Delayed audio after channel change (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to get a stable setup with MediaPortal and TV-Server, but I'm struggling with an annoying problem. When changing channels, sometimes the video starts without audio. Then the video plays for a while, and then stops. Then the audio starts, and the video is frozen until it has caugh up with where the video froze. After that, both audio and video plays nicely. The delay varies, and it happens more frequently on some channels. Hope the attached logs prove useful.

It could be a problem with the AC3Filter, as other codecs does not seem to give the same problem (although I have not tested that extensively). But AC3Filter is the only codec giving me proper optical out sound, so I'd rather stick with it.

I should also note that everything works perfectly with DVBViewer (same codecs).

I just moved to RC1 and noticed the problem as well. I don't think the issue is the audio/video codec's as I have seen the same problem with other codec's. I have tried most of the codec's I have available in various combinations and the same symptoms occur with all combinations to one degree or another. Usually doing a skip forward or backward will temporarily solve the problem, but then skipping forward or backward will create the problem if it didn't already exist.

I've played around with a couple of different audio codecs to see if that makes a difference, but it seems just to change the behaviour of the problem. Instead of the video freezing and the audio trying to catch up, the video simply freeze... Sometimes, the video starts again after a while, other times, I have to switch TV off and on again to get the channel running. I have attached some more logs.

I think the soundchanel change from MPEG2 to AC3 and return are the problem. I have AC3 on default setting for watching TV. when i start tv on a responsible AC3 tv-chanel i haven't problem. after i switching to a MPEG2 and return in the TV Ahdoc Setting i missing the sound to. It's the timeshifting the problem?

I have the same problem too (as described).

I will have a look, if I can find any procedure, to reproduce the problem or to find any circumstances (stereo/mono, specific channels, ...), under which the problem occures.

I can't change channels at all without losing sound. The first channel I select plays fine, but when I change channels the audio stops (I stopped waiting after 5 minutes). On restarting MediaPortal I could select a different channel, which again works fine until the first channel change.

MediaPortal RC1 is installed with pretty much all the default options.

EDIT - Problem solved. I changed the default sound output from "default directx output" to "realtek audio"

Hello.

I have simillar problem, there is a sound delay when I switch to another channel. I set my settings to direct output (Realtek HDMI), but this is no solution. Are there any ideas?

I'm experiencing exactly the same, have played around with settings and still get this audio lag when changing channels, sometimes the audio catches up but other times waiting does nothing (ie: no sound).

Cyberlink audio decoder is not recomended for TV playback as it has issues with audio sync. Please try with ffdshow audio decoder or with the MPA.
