I do have that update installed on my Vista system with no problems, and we do advise users to keep up to date with updates and security fixes

Not confident at all. The only thing I'd be able to without suggestions from you good people is to try and uninstall it...

I do have that update installed on my Vista system with no problems, and we do advise users to keep up to date with updates and security fixes

I manually install updates every now and then. I don't like the idea of having my system borked by an automatic update gone wrong!

1. Does anyone with a Windows XP SP3 system and KB2467174 NOT have this problem?

2. Does anyone with a Windows XP SP3 system without KB2467174 have this problem?


At least if we can isolate it to this particular update, we might have a chance of knowing how to proceed.

another observation - i believe vs2010 runtime that is required for mpaudioswitcher, should be for x86 system. So people having problems on win7 x64 - make sure vs2010 runtime x86 is also installed.

I would assume that if VC++ 2010 runtime x86 is required on 64 bit systems, then the MP installer will install it if it is not found.

I'm not using XP. I'm using WIN7 x86 on my client. So I think it's not only XP related.
