Hi, firstly allow me to congratulate all the MP team on an excellent product.

Although this post is not really referring to a problem with the TV-Server, it´s the TV-Server which came with the RC2 release of MP/TvServer, it is something I hope someone can help me with.

My problem is that in Spain TVE1 and La2 seem to be transmitting on 2 seperate frequencies (started in the last few month), the first frecuency for each channel emits nothing, the second emits the channels correctly. I have a Siemens Gigaset which has both channels listed twice, the first instance of which has no signal, the second instance of each is fine, however in MP, the TV Server when searching for channels finds the first frecuency of each but doesn´t appear to find the second frecuency of each, therefore I have TVE1 and La2 listed in the channels found but nothing is emitted.

Because MP has found one instance of a Channel, is it unable to store a second instance with the same name although it´s on a different frecuency? I see in the TV Server config that you can manually add a channel but I have no idea, and cannot find anywhere the frecuency, videopid etc which needs to be input nor how to assign the newly added channel to a card.

Well thanks for any help in advance.

Well it would seem that TVE1, 2, ClanTV and 24TVE have changed frecuency. Media Center reports frecuency as 538Mhz and the channels in MediaCenter can be viewed correctly, however, in MP, the channels are listed as 770Mhz frecuency and cannot be viewed. If anyone can tell me the PID, NetworkID etc so I can manually alter the channels in the TV Server configuración, or alternatively if the scan range in MP can be changed if anyone could let me know how I would be very grateful.

Many thanks.

same problem

hi there, I had the same problem in Belgium where our VRT transmitted the same on 2 frequencies. unfortunaltely Mediaportal choosed alwals the highest frequency, 626 MHz, while the best transmitter is on 482 MHz.
I had to "simply"replace the frequency 626000 with 482000 in the DVB-T setup. All other settings remain.

Info can be found in: MediaPortal/Configuration/Television - MediaPortal Manual Documentation under add/edit channel.

For the tv-server you find information in TV-Server/Configuration/TVChannels - MediaPortal Manual Documentation

you have to use the "edit" button to replace the frequency

Hi Da Nib

Thanks for your reply. I´ve attempted to edit the channels in question inputting the correct frecuency. And also scanning using UK - All Regions as the country so the scan initiates at a lower frecuency, under this scan the channels are found at the correct frecuency and I´ve managed to see 1 of the channels using the preview option in the TVServer->TV Channels menu but when I attempt to view it within MP, I only see a frozen image of the previous channel. It may be just my Digital TV coverage as I´m in a rural area. I´ll keep investigating and let you know.

Again, many thanks for you help.

Hi there NMawer42,

locking up seems to me like it's the codec. installing the demo version of powerdvd seems to resolve some issues which ffdshow can't. Here it did. Don't forget to change the codec in the setup.

Installing powerdvd made it even possible to watch the BBC-HD on satellite with my 2.5 year old pc.

If you want to investigate further I'd like to advise you to install MyTheatre, this shows signal strength AND Signal Quality on screen. This may also help you tracing problems.
