    Hello,

yesterday (at 2011-09-09 22:05) I had the case, that the system was directly going to hibernate again after resuming from hibernate. The MediaPortal screen was visible for 1-2 seconds and then the system was going down again. With the next resumes this happened again and again - the system was always going down, just after resuming. I pressed the power button on the case to shut-down windows, but even while windows showed the shutting-down text, the system was going to hibernate and interuppting the shut-down process. So, I had to wake up the computer 10 or more times, until it has completely shut-down. After the reboot then, the system was working again, as expected. The logs end here.

I had this behaviour a few times in the last half year.

Please find, attached logs. Is their something wrong with the PowerScheduler?

I can confirm this behavior, too. Quickly leaving MP, starting Task-Manager and stopping TVService did it. After that I could normally restart MP and all worked fine. I don't have no logs though. As I remember this only happened with RC.

Tonight, exactly the same thing happenend again. I don't have time enough to kill the TVService, the computer is always going down after about 2 seconds.

And also the same issue this evening, so the bug appears now very frequently (each day). This was never the case with previous MP versions.

For me this is a show-stopper for the release. Hope it can be solved.

Could you provide us with the settings for you PowerScheduler Plugins (server & client)? It looks like you have a very short idle time configured (why? don't know)

As bart0190 already mentioned, I also deactivated "shut down client" in the MP Configuration, yesterday. I put the system to hibernate and resume and so far it was working. I will continue testing it these days.

Seems that it is very important, that "shut down client" in MP Configuration is not enabled for single-seated setup! Right?

Idle time is not short, it was for both server and client 5 minutes.

Can you clarify, what the option "shut down client" exactly does? Is it only mentioned to be used, when the server runs on a different machine? If so, the power-scheduler settings should be made more save, so that users can not fall into this trap.

This is a very good question.

Im having very odd hibernation/sleep issues on my setup, and hibernation settings on client (MPconfig) seem to do nothing, sleep mode behaviour seems to be controlled solely by TVserver settings even if MP config powerscheduler settings are set up for client to hibernate before Tvserver.

AW: Directly going to hibernate again after wake-up

    Hi,
my system (win7(64bit),MP1.2beta, PowerScheduler++) encounters the same problem in the last view days. Right after resuming from standby it goes into standby again. The only chance I have is to kill the MP application via TaskManager. Than the cycling stops. I'm not sure, but this morning I deactivated the PowerScheduler++ plugin in MP-TV-Server. hope that helps for the moment. Will do some more testing this weekened.
