Discussion of Metadata Tags (1 Viewer)

The MP2 Wiki now holds an overview of the metadata tags that are already available or planned. This thread should hold all the ideas and discussions about those, so we can update and define the wiki page until everybody is happy.

The first two things I'm missing in the tags are:

1. Release-/Publication-/Air-date as DateTime field
2. Is3D for Videos

In general I would also like some metadata extraction to happen only based on the file name (many files today do not have good metadata). This is very useful for identifying tv series (most always with s\d+e\d+ in the name).

Why are pictures not added? For pictures I would plan the following:

• Name
• Date Taken
• Date Modified
• Tags
• People (incl. position on picture)
• Place (Geo Location)
• Camera Maker & Model
• F-Stop
• Exposure
• ISO
• MeteringMode
• CameraProgram
• Lens
• Apperture
• Focal Length
• 35mm Equiv.

For 3D movies it might be useful to have the "format" available as well (side by side etc.).

Should "last stop time" be a metadata ? If yes, then should not be forgotten as ther's actually no way to restart a media from the last stop point...

Last play time as well as current playlist position etc. are user-specific data and thus should not be imported as metadata. I have created a user service to store such user-dependent data.

One proposal on the people relationships (Director, Actor, Composer, ...)

Why not have a general Many2Many relationship between a people list and the media item along with a defined role? This way you are much more flexible for the future (see atached datamodel).

The actors are already ManyToMany relations. In wiki I only wrote "List(String)" because this is the input type. Internally it is already saved as many-to-many relations. You might also look into the database using the MS SQL Management studio.
