    Hi

Have just upgraded to MP2 summer 15 n Windows 10 *64. Unfortunately iso dont get mounted, trying to play via the movies interface.

I assume somethings not right with Dokan. I removed the old version of Dokan from control panel prior to installation. I tried to resintall dokan from the customised installers tried the .53 version and the .06 version but both said its not the right platform for the installer.

    Any pointers?

    TIA

ISO don't get mounted by DOKAN. They are seamlessly read by the ISOResourceProvider. It provides direct stream access to the contents of the ISO.

DOKAN is used where you need to access remote resources (i.e. MP2-Server running on different PC, media source points to a local server drive).

What kind of ISO you like to play, a DVD or BD image? In any case you should check the "browse media" way and see if the image/file is available. Is it accessible there?
If you like to access the ISO under "movies", it's required to match it by an online lookup at TMDB. Therefore either unique movie (file) names, .nfo files or IMDB IDs in path/filename should be available.

Thanks Morpheus for the info about dokan, didnt realise it wasnt used in the ISO mounting. My installation is client\server on the same box. The iso Im playing is a DVD, I can see it via the browse media and if I try to play it fails. I can confirm this via the error message of unable to play iso file. There is no .nfo, so I guess playing under movies is out, but is this an error if it cant mount it under browse media. Ive confirmed that it can be loaded from the filesystem ok. So should I send error logs to you, or is there something else I should look at? Id be grateful if you could also point me to the format for the nfo files.. thx

    Hi.
Id be grateful if you could also point me to the format for the nfo files.
You can use the well known tools like Ember, tMM or MKV-Buddy to generate full blown .nfo files. But if you only want it helping to identify the .iso you also can use the attached template .nfo file and edit the IMDB-ID ( aka tt number) inside this file to fit your movie. The template has the ID of "Avatar" included, so if you use it without editing all movies are recognised as "Avatar"... Then simply put the file next to the iso and name it the same way as the iso file and it should work. I never use iso myself (only mkv videos), so I only can hope this is right. At least it works with "normal" video files like avi, mp4, mkv and so on...

@morpheus_xx : are you sure that we don't use Dokan for locally accessing an iso file? For accessing e.g. a mkv-file within an iso file, the IsoResourceProvider may be enough because we can play the mkv with a simple file stream. But if it is a DVD or BD the player needs a file system and iirc we can only mount that via Dokan - even locally. I haven't checked the code, but I would be surprised if it worked without Dokan...

The iso that I cant mount even inside browse media is a straight rip of a dvd. The dokan dll is on the system, although no installer exists within add remove programs. The iso is on the network, and is pointed to via a mediasource from a server share. I know I uninstall dokan by mistake from control panel. Any ideas what I should do to mount the iso from browse media?

To install dokan use this installer and start it from commandline with a " /S" switch (capital 'S' is important).
That way you set the installation mode to "silent" and at the same time switch off the version check.
    Hope that helps...
