@Owlsroost - Yes it does crash. I had tested that it does by opening the TV Recordings folder via the video menu and playing the file - as I had not pu in a post process filter in the Video menu.

But to be on the saner(?) side, I removed the CoreCC filter from TV Post Processing and repeated all the previous steps. And yes, as expected it crashed on a 1080i recording. Logs are attached. Maybe this time something might jump out...

Thanks for persevering in this with me...

    OK....

Can you make a short sample 1080i recording please (10s-20s is enough), check that it crashes MP when you play it in 'Video', and attach it (or upload it to Dropbox etc.). I can then play it in my dev environment.

Does it crash when you use LAV video/audio decoders ?

    @Owlsroost - Here's the sample.

It crashes whether I try to play it in "Video" or in "TV Recordings" with the TsReader.ax (3085_2a). And it crashes with the LAV decoders as well.

My observation is that there is some change between the versions 3084_4a and 3085_1b that is causing this phenomenon.

The sample video plays on every player I tested it with (VLC, MPC, W8.1 Video App, WMC, WMP)

@Owlsroost - Wow! That was a fast turnaround!

Confirming that it works with MediaPortal 1.10.

So I cannot test with MediaPortal 1.11 PreRelease (I really like the enchanced and simplified HID/MCE remote), as you have specifically said 1.10 or earlier?

And if you have a few minutes, as a techie myself, would it be possible to explain what had caused this? Thanks a TON !

I'd actually prepared it earlier (it's just the latest version of my current dev branch) - I just gave it a quick test with your recording before posting it :)

Attached is an *untested* version for MP 1.11 - same codebase but with the new bitrate reporting interface enabled.

@Owlsroost - I could have sworn I had posted an update!

All good - ver 1.11PreRel works great with the untested ver 4_1_0_1.

I had a little heartburn though, I was not getting closed captions even with CoreCC enabled in post processing. Had to really think it through, and then viola - once the check box in subtitle options for closed caption's was checked, they came on.

It's kind of a doozie - you have to check the option as well as CoreCC in post processing for closed captions to work.

But all good now - thanks again!

@owlsroot I also have tested your latest version on 1.10 and wow, this version is great. Not a single issue for days!! Great work!
