I was thinking about using Live555 library, but I'm not sure if this library supports converting streams to MPEG 2 video/audio (because through RTSP can be sent streams using any codecs).

Do you mean re-encoding? To the best of my knowledge Live555 doesn't support re-encoding, however it does support converting between various forms of wrapping. There is no reason why you couldn't wrap elementary MPEG 2 video and h.264 video streams or MPEG 2 program streams with Live555. However I'm not sure whether it is appropriate to provide support for these streams through the DVB-IP source - maybe better through OnlineVideos or similar?

Other than MPEG2 and H264 providers should be supported by some other form than the tv client - re-encoding the video and audio on the fly doesn't sound a good idea.

Yes, I've mean re-encoding on the fly. I know that this is not good idea.

    Thank you for your reply.
Adding RTSP would be fantastic for me. I tried DVDBlink but I could not get it to work with media portal then it works fine on the media center of seven. I sincerely hope that you will successfully implement this protocol.
I look forward to the RC version of MP and wish you courage for yourwork.
heartiest congratulations to the MP team.

Can you find out with which codecs are encoded your provider's streams? Just play RTSP stream in VLC, than choose Tools -> Codec Information -> Codec details.

    Thanks.

    Hi guys,

    need your help.

I didn't found any info how to pass the account data to the IPTV filter (specifically for kartina.tv). I have tried the telnet schema (rfc 1738) with http://username:password@host but without success. For example there is a test account for kartina.tv username=148, password=841; i have tried with this playlist:

    Code:
    #EXTM3U
    #EXTINF:0,kartina.tv
    http://148:841@iptv.kartina.tv

but have become "No Signal" message.

    Hi,

for KARTINA protocol you'll need to enter URL in format kartina://address.of.server?id=XX&user=XXX&pass=XXX. I'm not sure, what id means (probably id of channel).

Thanks for codecs list, but I really need your help with RTSP, because I'm really stucked (especially with HD). I have compiled test program from Live555, which saves audio and video file streamed through RTSP. Usage of application is simple, just
    Code:
    openRTSP rtsp_url
It should create at least two files (one for audio, one for video), but there can be more files depending how many substreams are transmitted. Can you attach these files here? It would be great to have samples for HD and SD RTSP streams (approx. 1 minute length).

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help, but it didn't help ;)

I've tried this format, but still become the "No Signal" message by the channel scanning. Is there some sort of setup guide for kartina? What should i set as "address.of.server"? The "iptv.kartina.tv" or an address of one of the broadcasting servers?
How can i enter the channel id in the URL that will be used for the channel scannig?

Which version of MP do you use? MP 1.1.3 or 1.2.0 Beta? Could you attach your TV server logs?

What should i set as "address.of.server"?

It can be DNS name of server or IP address. If name is resolvable to IP adress than it can be correct.

How can i enter the channel id in the URL that will be used for the channel scannig?

Correct URLs or playlist you should get from your provider. Do you have any playlist or URLs?
