I have recently installed MP and I am having trouble with watching or previewing scrambled dvb-s channels. I am able to watch the channels using DigitalTV and ProgDVB but every time I switch to the channels or try and preview the channels in MP I get a 'Channel is scrambled' message.

In the other applications (DigitalTV and ProgDVB) it takes about 15-20 seconds before the first channel is displayed and I suspect MP is not waiting long enough before returning the error.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Thanks.

Fixed the scrambled channels issue by:

1. Setting the card has CAM checkbox in the TV Server.
2. Edit any one of the of the encrypted channels and setting it as free to air.

All encrypted channels were then available.

Do you have the 'this card has a cam' checkbox set in the TVServer config?

Yes, that's the checkbox I was referring to. Here's some things to try:

1. I have found that sometimes, I need to remove the CI module from the DVB-S card and re-insert it. I'm not sure why but it seems to resolve problems like this.
2. After re-inserting sometimes the first channel I attempt to view will throw the scrambled error but after that it works fine.
3. My mantis card came with some CI management software designed to view and probe the status of the card. It's very basic and does not fix problems like this but it will show you whether the card is decrypting correctly. It's an MCE add-in but works fine outside MCE. It was on the disc that came with the card.
4. I've also experienced issues with the card after sleep or on restart where vista does not enable the device correctly. In these cases, I need to disable/enable the device and then restart the TVService.

Good luck.
