I live in Germany and as you may know we have some strange mutated vowels in our language ;), like the french and the spanish and so on. My DVB-S EPG in the MP TV session displays to me broadcast programming scheduling information for the german television channels. Of course the texts contain mutated vowels but they are not displayed properly. The best I could say is that they are replaced bei some strange ASCII-alternatives.
Is there a setting for that?

Regards,
Jens

Same thing happens with UK DVB guide. Any (foreign) words with accented characters don't display properly - it doesn't seem to be able to deal with unicode. I assume it must be hard to fix otherwise somebody would have done it - I've even considered downloading the source myself and having a look, but never got round to it. It's fairly uncommon in English, so it doesn't annoy me enough to bother, but I'm surprised more German/French/Scandinavian/etc speakers haven't raised it.

AW: DVB-S EPG : Not capable of mutated vowels?

Can you post a screenshot of what you mean?
I think I saw problems with the letter "ß" but ä,ö,ü were displayed correctly in the TV Guide as far as I remember.

I recently switched from the internal EPG-Grabber via DVB-S to "WebGrab+Plus 1.0.9" via the xmltv-plugin in TV server. The Webgrab+Plus is much faster and it filles out nearly all channels because of the manual mapping capability. Additionaly, it can be scheduled. I run it every second day with a forecast of 10 days.

Things with EPG are much better now. I have mutuated vowels now as it should be. Well, in most cases. I added some screenshots. It seems that only one channel is affected.
