Problem with change of channel names
Is it possible that I can't change the channel names?
When I changed the channel "Das Erste" to "ARD" and go to MP in TV there was now "WDR" shown - crazy, nice feature!

Have an SS2 here too but compiling from CVS is a pain if you don't know anything about C# and its build environments... I'm familiar with the regular set of GNU build tools (configure script, makefiles, gcc et al) but not with Visual Studio solutions. I'd be happy to help out if anyone can make a binary available for 1.0.4 (with SkyStar support)?

feedback on CVS2004.12.23
Hi just a short note. Tested on mce skin using overlay.
TV with SS2 now works with WinDVD6 MPEG-2 decoder and audio decoder.
Timneshift works
Manual Recording works
D-Show window does not show up anmore
probs:
all written information is illegible with large characters and choppy apearance. This is also the reason I could not test EPG...
I suppose this is due to the fact that it is a CVS or is it my ati Radeon?
I think the project is moving ahead quickly though thanks for the great work!

I think it's the CVS, for one or two channels I can see the EPG for all others I get no EPG data.

0.1.0.3 - Scanning gets services, but not getting channels
I'm trying to get this working, and feel close, but having probs. I currently used mytheatre 3.19 with yangze to tune my sats. I installed the new technisat drivers, which installed the Setup4PC app (and broke myTheatre, but thats ok, i'm trying to move away).
I can use the setup4pc app to scan transponders, and it locks onto 119. I can even get channels off it using setup4pc. I set my diseq settings to 112500 and 11700 (the same I use in mytheatre). again, setup4pc lets me scan the sats.
Then I uninstalled media portal, then went and deleted the folder (why didn't uninstall do this?). Installed 0.1.0.3...setup the skystar stuff according to the wiki (which isn't updated on how to use plugins yet..but hey, its the holidays. )
Anywa, my understanding is that even wihtout plugins support, I should be able to scan sats, and get channels. Well I made tpl files, and scanned the echostar 7. I got back 12 services, which showed up as zero channels. I have a haupage 250 in the machine, not sure if that might conflict.
If I tune mytehatre to a channel to lock it, I get like 600 services returned. but still no channels. If I do just a scan of all transponders without mytheatre, I get 300 services or so, but again... NO channels! I hit Ok, restart, check the channel section, and all I get are the 3 channels that the haupage 250pvr gives me (composite, svideo, etc.)
The setup4pc app shows a red ball typically. I'll lock it onto a transponder, then scan, and get some results. if I dont do that, typically when i scan in media portal, the "Scanning" UI doesn't update (it only updates when the sat is locked...interesting). The progress meter will go by, but I just dont see anything until the setup4pc turns green and gets a lock.
Anyway, please let me know:
1) If this is known, or if I"m doing something known wrong
2) what other info you need to debug this
3) where plugins go for this..do I just dump them int he plugin folder, or do they need a subfolder.
Thanks a ton! This is great work, and puts you way ahead of the other apps. i read today that the implementation that was done for sageTV was based on Saar's DVBCore, and he shutdown access to that, so good job on going the SDK route!

Plugins
Plugins aren't supported yet.
This is on Agree's todo list, but not implemented yet..
You could also see it in the source, that there are no references to plugins (multidec style or other).. It's currently for FTA only..
But judging by the speed that Agree is developing this, I don't think it's gonna take long..
Question to Agree: Could you maybe see as to how difficult it would be to support MediaHighWay EPG data?? I think quite a lot of people will be pleased with this (Especially dutch people, cause they have Canal Digitaal)
I saw a plugin for it on DVB Portal site with Delphi sources.... (www.dvbportal.de)

Ok, so while trying to figure this out I came across the following:
in Setup4pc when tuning the transponder with Nasa TV, I enter:
Transponder 12297
Symbol Rate: 20000
Polarity: Horizontal
FEC: Auto
LNB Frequency: 12500
LNB Selection: 22kHz
DiSEqC: None
It tunes the channel,and the TunerFrequency shows: 1047. This seems perfect.
Then using mediaportal I read a tpl that has just the line:
12297,H,20000
I set my DiSeq the same in mediaportal as in Setup4pc.
When I scan, I check setup4pc, and click status to see what its getting. it shows:
Transponder 12297
Tuner Frequency: 1697
Symbol Rate: 20000
FEC 5/6
Polarity: Horizontal
LNB Frequency: 10600
LNB Selection: 22kHz
DiSEqC: None
I've confirmed on lyngsat that the FEC is indeed 5/6, so media portal calculated this correctly. But notice Tuner Frequency, its way off! I believe it's because I need to be able to adjust the LNB Frequency in Mediaportal, but I dont see anywhere in 1.0.3 to do this.
