Yes, you can.

The "how" depends a bit on the format. If it's in folders (i.e. .vob files), then you need to add the vob file extension to your movie settings.

If they are ISOs, you need to add the file extension AND configure daemon tools (in the MP configuration advanced settings.

    Hi,

make sure you have video and audio ts directories for each movie:
    MOVIE1\VIDEO_TS\
    MOVIE1\AUDIO_TS\
    MOVIE2\VIDEO_TS\
    MOVIE2\AUDIO_TS\

If it's in folders (i.e. .vob files), then you need to add the vob file extension to your movie settings.
If you've got the IFO files as well (which you should have if it's a straight rip) then you don't need to add the VOB extension as mediaportal comes pre-configured with IFO and will pick them up, but as FlipGer said they need to be in the VIDEO_TS folder to work.

So you should have something like the following:

    c:\DVDs\Alien\VIDEO_TS

and then you'd add the c:\DVDs folder to MediaPortal's movie folders and it should pick them all up for you.

I have my vobs in a seperate folder

In My Movies I see the Cover from the Movie. When I click on it I can see each VOB file. How can I do it to play the Movie when I click on the cover?

Well I think the earlier post figured it out. The VOB files need to be where MediaPortal expects them. It is set up to use the default "File Mode" of DVD decryptor. So it expects that folder arrangement. I use both ISO and File versions of movies and they both work. I find that the File versions work better at IMDB look ups than the ISOs.

Yes. Now I habe the video_ts folder and it works. Only at one movie I have a blacvk screen

Sometimes I get a black screen too. It tends to be mostly the trailers whilst the main movie plays ok. Sometimes I can get it to work by pressing stop then play and then click Yes to resume from last position. This would imply that it is not a codec issue as it should not play at all. I use the default MP codec whatever that is.
It is a weird issue and very irritating. Audio works fine even though the screen is black. It only happens on some specific image files.

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". Anyway, I found a way to do this which was far from automated but relatively low effort. I found what looked like all the images (CD covers, DVD covers, backgrounds etc all lumped together in...

It may seem strange, but the open-source license allows anyone to sell physical CDs or DVDs to customers, provided that, for example, the source code is made available upon request and additional value is provided, such as an installation manual. Both of these are mentioned in the product description, so it appears to be legitimate...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

    MP1 MP2 MP2 - V2.5 DVD codec? DE
Apparently Windows hasn't had the codecs to read DVD since about Windows 8 or 10. I've been searching for a DVD playback codec but it requires another player. Is there a way for MP2 to read DVDs?
