DVD Order (1 Viewer)

I have a question about DVD Order. Kids animated shows that feature 2 "episodes" per airing. So the *proper* way would be Episode 1 being Title 1 / Title 2. TheTVDB.com on the other hand, for whatever crazy reason lists Title 1 as Episode 1, while Title 2 is listed as Episode 2. Now the problem with this is that it gets the episode titles completely wrong. For instance, Episode 2 would be incorrectly labeled as Title 2, instead of say Title 3/Title 4. Now I could rename Episode one from S01E01 to "S01E01 S01E02", which I have done to get the episode titles right. The problem with this is that while it correctly sets episodes 1+2 to watched, when rating the episode, it only rates the one that you hit play on. So I have to go back and hit play on episode 2 and FF to the end to rate that one also. Not that it's a HUGE deal, but it's a minor annoyance.

So my question is, if I get them to edit the dvd order to list episodes "1" and "2" to DVD Order of "1" and "3" and "4" to DVD Order "2", would these episodes appear combined after that in the plugin? I can't test it since the actual listing is locked (because someone previously combined them to be "proper" in the eyes of most people), so I figured there's no sense in asking them to set the dvd order if it's not going to help. Thanks!

lol, you dont need to replay an episode just to rate it. Bring up the menu (F9 or Info on remote) and select Rate Episode.

Sorry, have not had a coffee yet to fully understand what you are asking :) I think you can map two aired episodes to a single DVD entry online like this:

    Farscape: Season 5 Episode List

ie. use decimal 1.1 and 1.2 to represent a single episode as two aired episodes.

I have not tested this in TVSeries for a long time nor remember how to name an episode like that with DVD order option. Sorry, cant be much help with this right now...its one of the those complicated issues that would require me to read the code again.

For Farscape in the plugin, do those two show up as 1 entry? or do they still show as a seperate entry? If it shows up as 1 entry that's what I want. I'll post the info on what I'm having a problem with in a while, I have to run out the door =]

Sorry, I just cant remember...but I think Farscape 5x01 and 5x02 is just 5x01 on DVD hence the reason for the decimal representation of the episodes.

Ok, so here's the info. Show is Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Episode 1 is Hide the Hideout *and* Old shell game. TheTVDB.com lists Old Shell Game as Episode 2. Episode 2 is actually Hats off Hook and Escape from Belch Mountain (which they have listed as 3 and 4 respectively).

So basically, I'm wondering if Hide the Hideout and Old Shell Game were listed as DVD Order #1 (or 1.1 and 1.2) if they would be combined as #1 in the plugin, or even if they were listed seperately as both being episode 1. It would be 1 file for both (which is is now also). Otherwise I'm looking at splitting all the files to play properly, which seems ignorant considering the work involved.....

For these double episodes, I use S01E01E02 which parses nicely.

The only other thing would be to correct the tvdb.com, if I understand you correctly.

I already named the files like that, which I stated. I also can't fix the listings, because they want them that way. They feel that some day they may be split and aired separately, or mixed together. It's kinda stupid to be honest..... So basically, my alternative is to either put in all the episodes manually (changing the name to "Neverland" instead of "Never Land" so they don't match) or keep them the way they are. To me, it's not proper and annoys me to look at them that way (I have OCD). That's why I was wondering if the DVD Order may help..... Guess I'll have to try with some dummy files later with a show that shows the dvd order and see what happens.....
