I have had many "codec" problems, specialy in OnlineVideos, and a couple of weeks ago I decided to find an easy Codec setup that can play "all" my files.... i made a Virtual machine and started testing different codec packs and installation metodes ... this is what worked for me, hope this can help You
0. Uninstall all codec related stuff...and reboot.
1. Download and install KB971633, this will fix something with quartz.dll
2. Install K-Lite_Codec_Pack Full version, and choose the "Profil 7: Lots of Stuff"
3. Install QuickTime DirectShow Source Filter
4. In "Directshow filter Control / Video Renderer Settings" I changed to "Enhanced Video Renderer"
