I am not using the suplied VideoEditor (Using VideoRedo TVSuite edition), but let's try:

    Based on skin Blue3Wide
In MediaPortal, go to Plugins and select Video Editor
Ensure that CUT is selected in the left menu
Browse to the required directory and select file on right hand side
Using Play, backward, forward - mark the START and END of the piece you want to cut
When both start and end is marked, click on ADD to add it to the cut list
    Repeat for other cut pieces
When done, select CUT in the left menu
    Wait for completion
You will be prompted if you want to keep or delete the original file.

Just play around first to see if the cut list is removed or if the cut list will be the part that is kept.

    Hi

I assume that the editor is in “MediaPortal – Configuration” and not “MediaPortal” which I initially tried and clicked on “My Plugins” and it came up with the following buttons.
    “My Tetris” and “My Sudoku”
I did not see a button for “Video Editor”

However, in MediaPortal – Configuration I saw the VideoEditor icon. I clicked on it and nothing seemed to happen. There were other options and buttons below in the configuration window and by right clicking. However, I could not seem to open up a window with a left menu containing “Cut”.

What buttons do I click on to open up the VideEditor and see the left menu?.

    Your help would be appreciated
    Regards Richard.

In MP Configuration, right click on the video editor plugin and enable it.
Then follow my steps above inside MediaPortal.

    Hi

I enable the plugins. However, I still could not open the window with the menu you suggested. However, when I right click on the VideoEditor icon and select "Configuration" a "VideoEditor - Setup" window opens that states "Please enter the path to your mencoder binaries here to enable to transcode"

Should I enter something in there and if so what?

    Your help is appreciated
    Regards Richard.

No need to enter anything in the Configration. Wonder if your problem is skin related...what skin are you using?

So basically, when enabled, you should see Video Editor from the MediaPortal GUI from the Plugin menu.

You do not see it at all?
Or you do see it, but it does not work?

    Richard,

Not withstanding actually getting the video editor plugin working, you started talking about wmv files imported from your DV camcorder. AFAIK I don't think mediaportal can edit wmv files. Only mpeg2.

    Hi

In "MediaPortal – Configuration" I clicked on "Plugins" in the left hand menu. A window titled “Plugins” came up with an icon labelled "VideEditor" at the bottom. When I right click on the icon it states "Auther: Kaybe and brutus, skin by Ralph." When I right click, there is a tick beside “Enabled” and “Listed in home”.

Is the VideEditor window supposed to open up when I double click on the icon? That does not happen for me.

I am not sure what you mean by "Video Editor from the MediaPortal GUI from the Plugin menu."

I do not want to only edit the files I record with my video camera. I mainly want to edit the TV programs that I record. I will use another program to edit what I recorded from my camera. Perhaps I could also use this program to edit the programs I watch on Portal if it is easy enough to do.

    Your help is appreciated
    Regards Richard.

    “Listed in home”.
Then you should see the VideoEditor on the home menu, not Plugin menu as previously stated.
Also note that it will be on the HOME menu and NOT on the BASICHOME menu.

No, not from the Configuration program.

I am not sure what you mean by "Video Editor from the MediaPortal GUI from the Plugin menu."
I just mean it is from within MediaPortal and not from the Configuration program.

    Hi

In “MediaPortal – Home” window, I do not see a button for the VideoEditor. The buttons that I can see are My Music, My videos, Settings, My TV, My weather, My plugins, My radio and My pictures.

Do I have to click on one of the above buttons to access the VideoEditor?

    Your help is appreciated
    Regards Richard.
