eeeTop, stutter in TV preview, Fullscreen ok, VMR9 probs (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

yesterday I setup a new client: My new eeeTop
here are the system specs:
Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz
15.6" WXGA Touchscreen TFT (1366x768
Win XP home SP3
1GB Ram
160 GB HD
Intel GMA950 (IGP) max.128MB
Wlan connection (at the moment)
Installed the updates (DVB FIX), and dotnet 1.1 - 3.0 incl SP.

MP Client 1 connected to remote TV Server 1 (see my Specs)
Skin Blue3 wide

Codec: PDVD 7.3 for video, MPA for sound, VMR9 configured; Codecs are really used (checked with graphedit)

Now I have some strange problems that I hope maybe someone can help me with, or at least has a idea about it.

1) when starting MP (TV) for the first time after boot, I get a black screen.
2)Restarting sometimes gives my a nice fullscreen picture in TV, BUT the TV preview in every other screen is extremely stuttering.
3) sometimes I need to start configuration.exe and hit ok again, restart MP to get a picture.

EDIT:
I forgot: When disabling VMR9 exclusive mode I don't get a picture aswell. ( I wanted to do this because show an on screen Keyboard to be able to navigate with the touch screen).

With evr I get a picture everytime, but stuttering-> maybe due to performance.

Unfortunately I don't have logs atm, but I thought maybe someone could give me a hint?

I have exactly same problem with my Installation. TV in fullscreen is perfect. in EPG or Menu mode TV is stuttering.
Is there any solution or idea available?

Hi!

Stuttering in the preview windows is a known bug and will be resolved in one of the next svn's.

doubt that bug fixes itself unless you find more GPU power somehow. There's no stutter if there's enough GPU+CPU to render the overlay+dx menus. You could try lowering your screen hZ from 60 -> 50 to see if you get better perfomance as there are then 10 redraws less per second.

I fixed at least the issues around the black tv screens:

I reinstalled the system (recovery option) installed all updates + .net 1.1-3.0 sp1, installed latest directx redist., installed pdvd 7.3 ultra, installed MP client.

All in the above order. Now i have TV-picture everytime, no stutter in fullscreen, no vmr9 issue without exclusive mode, still stuttering in preview. It seems that the order of installation is crucial on this box.

However, I could not find a bug description in the bugtracker that's related to the preview stuttering, so I don't know if its fixed in the actual svn.
Could someone clarify on that?
