Hi, in the TV Server Setup I have configured my FloppyDTV to decrypt up to max. 5 channels. However, I cannot view and/or record multiple channels.

On this page (http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3/listofcams) it says that it has to be enabled on the CAM/CI. I have tried to do this with MyTheatre, but in the CI menu it gives me an "Empty slot" error and cannot get to this setting. The DigitalEverywhere forums didn't help eighter...

My TVServer and client setup is working perfectly, the only thing remaining for me is the multi channel decryption.

Does anybody use any other software than MyTheatre?
Or maybe a specific version of MyTheatre that worked for you?

Gr, Dave

I have tried to do this with MyTheatre, but in the CI menu it gives me an "Empty slot" error and cannot get to this setting.

Since you have a FireDtv box you can also access the CAM menu by
using the CI app which comes with the firedtv bda setup.

Note that in setuptv you also need to specify the max# of channels to decrypt
    You do this by
    - start setuptv
    - click on 'tvservers' ->[tvserver]
    - The list with cards installed is shown
    - choose your card (the firedtv) and click on 'Edit'
    - in the dialog which pops up specify the max# nr of channels the cam can decrypt

Hi Frodo. First of all, thanks for the quick response.

I have taken care of it in setuptv and I have set the max. to 5. In my dream scenario that would take care of 3 clients watching plus 2 recordings simultaniously.

Now, where do I go in the CI program? When I hit the "Enter CI menu" button that is to the right of the list of Available Tuners in the Tuner Selection section, nothing happens. Should this work? Because it never has, I have always tried the other menu options in the MMI section (Information, SmartCard, Email Messages, Parental Control, Module Options and Quit). But in here, I can't find anything related to multi channel decryption. The one thing that comes close to it is Module Options > CA Mode and that is set to "MULTI/DYNAMIC".

    Thats exactly the setting!
it should set to multi, so... you are done;-)

Damn... no I'm not ;-) If all the hardwaresettings are correct, then it's obviously something else that's not working correctly.

    This is my scenario:
    1. Start MP, tune to Nederland 1 (22:17)
    2. Record Now (22:17)
    3. Try to tune to Nederland 2 (22:19)
    4. I get the error: "Unable to start timeshifting. No free card available"
    5. Confirm the error message, stop recording and leave MP.

The TV Server logfiles for this scenario are attached. I get the same error message when MP on my TV server PC is tuned to a channel and I try to start TV in MP on my HTPC in the living room.

Stupid me.... in the TV Server setup the max was not set to 5 but to 1! SHAME!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I forgot to set it after the clean installation on my new Vista PC SHAME :-D

Anyway, now I don't get the error message, but the tv freezes. So I'll just go searching the forum for answers first on this new "development" and if necessary I'll post a new thread.
