Don't know if this one if 'by design' or a bug 
but...
When entering TVSetup -> Manual Control the log file indicates "EPG: grabber started..."
When leaving manual control the log gives: "Controller: epg stop"
When TVE3 is recording on card1 and you enter TVSetup -> Manual control, the 'State' of the card in manual control will also change from 'Recording' to 'Grabbing EPG'.
I did have an error a few times that somehow when leaving TVSetup/Manual control open, the recording was somehow failing after a while. Nothing in the logfiles about this however. Still trying to find out how to reproduce this exactly, but the epg grabber starting might have to do with this.
