Kev,
I'm a bit of newb with this, but learning.

I was hoping to use your EPG grabber to add SBS programs to the EPG, since they thoughtfully don't broadcast it in the DVB stream......

I have MP1.0 RC2 (TV and Client on single PC) running on Win XP SP3 with WM11. I did the 'advanced set up' so I could select MySQL rather than MS SQL.
This approach meant MySQL Administator was not automatically installed, so I downloaded and installed it from SUN (MySQL :: MySQL GUI Tools Downloads). When I open it and log in with the MP log ins it gives an error and says "server information" and "server control" not available. I added a new user and it let me select schema's from "mptvdbrc2" ("tvlibrary" does exist). All the priviledges were passed to the new user (EPG as per your example).

Then when I try to log in to the EPG service I get more errors, basically it can't open or find something.

The database exists because I can watch TV no problems and the stream is served from the TV Server.

Any ideas that might get me heading in the right direction?

C

I haven't recieved any help on this, but noticed that the WebServer (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../epg-downloader-service-tv-server-only-32166/) also uses Kev's EPG downloader, so I might give that a go.......

    Hi Callumgw!

Tried this with MySQL and Ill got the same error message(I'm normally using mssql). So my suggestion would be to change database to mssql.
Switching to webserwer might work, but then u could only work with epg sources without "complex" downloads.

    Hi,
complex downloads makes it possible to set som extra search criteria (needed in my case).
I think that Kevs intention is to merge "this" EPG function in to the webserver later on.

I've setup the epg downloader but I'm having some trouble with my xmltv file.

I'm using mc2xml to download the listing file and the error I get when I try to import is 'Error=Invalid argument to date encode'.

After some playing around with the XML file I've narrowed the problem down to the <date> field that's causing the problem, if I remove this then the file is imported correctly.

I've attached an example file that's causing the problem, I've removed all programmes except one for testing, as is it will fail to import, remove the '<date>20080916</date>' field at it will sucessfully import.

    Many thanks for any help,
    Bagal.

    Hi Bagal!

Why do u use an external xmltv importer when MPEPG can do the hole job for u??

To be honest I was just playing around with mc2xml and the mpepg to see if I could use it with MediaPortal as I know from when I used MCE a few years ago that the guide data is reasonably comprehensive and my last attempt at using WebEPG (albeit quite a while ago now) was rather frustrating.

I think I'll give it a go tonight using mpepg to do the downloading as well though.

    Thanks,
    Bagal.
