Hi,

I'm having a bit of trouble with grabbing EPG data from my dvb-t channels. This issue occurs even when I manually update the EPG using the tv server configuration tool.

I'm hoping for a little help from you bright people.

Mediaportal found the following channels:
Code:
Unknown: DIGI-TV STB Opdateringer type:12 onid:20D0 tsid:3EA sid:51 pmt:50 hasVideo:0 hasAudio:0
DVBT:tv:DIGI-TV DR1 Freq:658000 ONID:8400 TSID:1002 SID:101 PMT:0x65 FTA:True LCN:10000 BandWidth:8
DVBT:tv:DIGI-TV DR2 Freq:658000 ONID:8400 TSID:1002 SID:102 PMT:0xC9 FTA:True LCN:10000 BandWidth:8
DVBT:tv:DIGI-TV DR UPDATE / Tegnsprog Freq:658000 ONID:8400 TSID:1002 SID:103 PMT:0x12D FTA:True LCN:10000 BandWidth:8
DVBT:tv:DIGI-TV TV 2 (Østjylland) Freq:658000 ONID:8400 TSID:1003 SID:213 PMT:0x835 FTA:True LCN:4 BandWidth:8
I have EPG working consistently for TV 2. All other channels has no or very limited EPG (and only for the current day).

The EPG grabber log displays the following errors:

Code:

Which I think is a little weird?!

Focusing on DR 1: The guide shows two programs for DR 1 this morning, and here's the grabber log for these two entries:

Code:
2008-12-20 07:36:11.993500 [EPG Update thread]: IdleEpgGrabber: no channel found for networkid:0x20D0 transportid:0x3EC serviceid:0x65

The EPG grabber actually has log entries that indicates that a lot more EPG data is found for that channel. I'm including the first line, which is an error. I don't know if that's relevant.

Code:
2008-12-20 07:35:53.899750 [EPG Update thread]: IdleEpgGrabber: no channel found for networkid:0x20D0 transportid:0x3EB serviceid:0x65

....

Thanks!

I just restarted the tv-server, and ran an EPG scan manually using the tv server configuration tool. The weirdness just grows!

The program guide for DR1 now includes two new programs this morning (!). The grabber log for these entries looks like this:

2008-12-20 08:27:15.352875 [EPG Update thread]: Epg: card:1 Updating database with new programs
2008-12-20 08:27:15.524750 [EPG Update thread]: IdleEpgGrabber: no channel found for networkid:0x20D0 transportid:0x3E9 serviceid:0x65

But, a few lines further down the log file, there is strong indication that a lot more entries were found:

    Hi

In TVServer config\general epg tab, try altering the timeout to 12 or 15, this may have the desired effect of gathering all the dvb epg data.

Can i ask, how does a settop box deal with the epg, are there any problems there, or is it just MP.

Sorry but I don't have one to test with, however I've found something interesting.

According to TV server configuration tool, channel DR1 had transportid 1002. I noticed in the logs from the EPG grabber, that the grabber was looking for the a channel with transportid 1003. I tried to manually change the channel from 1002 to 1002 inside the configuration tool, and now it loads TV guide information for it. I don't know if it'll keep loading EPG data from now on, but I seems likely. I don't know if the channel still shows a picture, but I'll find out :)

I guess that leaves some questions... Why did channel scanning result in transportid 1003, and epg scanning in 1002?

    Hi,

I justed wanted to follow up on this.

It looks like all channels, except tv2, were configured with transport id 1002 during the scanning proces. However the EPG grabber was looking for channels with transport id 1003, and didn't find any in the database. I tried to manually change the transport id to 1003 for channels DR 1, DR Update and DR 2, and that did the trick. After a little testing last night and this morning, it looks like all the channels are still working, and the grabber is consistently loading EPG information for all channels.

Thank you for helping me :)

Thank you for starting this thread, I had to manually change my transport-id to 1003. Works like a charm now :)
