==================================================================

Describe the Problem you encounter as detailed as possible! "It does not work" won't help the team to understand the problem.
Description:
The PC is a server and client. There are two other clients on a desktop and laptop in the private network.
The server PC is used solely for serving and viewing TV and recording TV.
Live TV works, so I know the Hauppauge card is working as confirmed by Device Manager and the aerial is connected properly.
Existing TV recordings can be viewed normally.
When in the Server software, TV Preview works correctly.
Everything has worked correctly until two(?) days ago when the EPG stopped and so no recordings are happening and it is hard to view live TV.

Describe as detailed as possible the steps that are required to encounter the issue. This info is critical for the team to understand the problem.
Steps to Reproduce:
In the Server software, I did a Manual EPG refresh many times with no effect.
I did a Media Portal repair but it made no improvement.
Debug logs and PC/Windows specs are attached.

I regret to inform you that MP2 is no longer supported. :(

You will need either to solve the problem yourself, or discontinue use of MP2 and move to a different product. I would suggest either MP1 (which is still supported) or NextPvr. Both are free for personal use.

Oh, thanks CyberSimian. I find that a surprise since a new release appeared on 7th March 2025, less than 6 months ago. I haven't found a forum entry to announce the demise of 2.5. Can you say where to find it please?

There isn't one, because none of the MP2 developers visit this web site any more. I can see the dates when they last visited (I am not sure whether you can):
    • The MP2 lead developer last visited on: 6 Sep 2024
    • Another senior member of the development team last visited on: 22 Dec 2024
    • The senior skin designer last visited on: 16 Jan 2025
I think that it would be inappropriate for any of the MP1 team to announce officially that MP2 is dead -- it needs to be an MP2 developer who does that.

Of course, it is always possible that the MP2 development team are simply taking an extended break from MP development. Perhaps one day they will return. But until then, there is no help available for MP2. :(

Very sad really, MP2 has some very nice features and there was a lot of promise for further improvement. At one point I almost switched from MP1 though at the time I decided against it due to it not implementing the Madvr renderer or supporting external video players which meant there was no possibility to play the 3D movies I had. I do hope it does come back perhaps with a modern streaming plugin.

There was no need to separate the projects, it would have been better to improve MP1, in its embryonic state support for SQL databases other than SQLite already exists, it would have been possible to make a normal client server version, for example, as it is done in Kodi.

In view of CyberSymian's comments I uninstalled 2.5 and installed the latest version of v1 - 1.38.3. Once I got used to the new GUI I found EPG not present. Again, I did a manual EPG update but it had no effect. Live TV works, programmes previously recorded on v2.5 work and I can manually schedule future recordings.
I use UK Freeview and did a search in case there is a transmission problem but not so. Since my EPG worked then failed on v2.5 and now has never worked on v1, can you think of a reason for this?

I use MP1 with a TBS 6284 tuner, and collect the DVB-T/T2 EPG once each day (at 06:00 hours). Setting up the collection parameters in "TV Server Config" requires some care, as it is easy to make a less-than-optimal choice of settings.

This page in the Wiki goes some way (I hope!) to explaining how to setup EPG grabbing, so worth a read if you have not already done so. These are the settings that I use:

    dvb_epg_1.jpgdvb_epg_2.jpgdvb_epg_3.jpgpower_sched.jpg

    Note that:
    • I do not use the timeshift grabber.
    • Only one channel is selected in "TV EPG Grabber".
    • No channel is selected in "Radio EPG Grabber".
    • The other settings are important too, so don't change from the ones I use.
With these settings, if you go to "Manual Control" and select "Refresh DVB EPG", an EPG grab will start within a few seconds (a pop-up appears), and should complete within about 30 minutes (approximately 15 minutes for the grabbing part, and another 15 minutes for the database-updating part).

    So what happened?
Did you try the settings that I suggested?
Did they work, or are you still having problems?

Hi, yes I did and EPG works, so many, many thanks, however I need to make one more change to see if it actually makes a difference.
Also, my clients would not work and I found by downgrading one version, all came good.
Off sick at the moment so will advise my findings later.
