    Hello,

I'm encountering an issue after importing EPG data into the TV-Server/Database.

    The Problem:
After importing an XMLTV file, I find a large number of additional program entries in the MySQL database (table: program) that were not present in the original XML file. These rogue entries are characterized by having the exact same start and end time.

    Details
    • MediaPortal Version: 1.38.3 64bit
    • Operating System: Windows 11
    • XML Source: dispatcharr

    Question:
Is this a known bug in the EPG import mechanism? Has anyone else experienced the TV-Server creating these ghost entries with a 0-second duration?

    Thank you for any help!

A quick question: does the MP EPG show these zero-length programmes, or are they omitted from the EPG that you see in MP? Although zero-length programmes in the database serve no obvious useful purpose, it may be that their presence is benign, and that the only adverse effect is a database that is bigger than need be.

Please post a ZIP file containing the XML file that you imported and which resulted in the zero-length programmes in the EPG. I don't use an XML EPG, and I know nothing about the internals of MP's XML import and EPG creation, so I am probably not going to be able to help. But I am curious to see if there is any obvious defect in the XML file. Thank you.

Yes, the MP EPG displays these entries
Perhaps I am misunderstanding the XML file, but for the programme that has the focus in your screen shot of the EPG, there are three identical entries in the XML file, at lines: 8259, 8971, 9683.

Is it possible that the list of channels that you download from the EPG web site has duplicated entries?

Some channels have multiple addresses. e.g., 3SAT, the channel you are mentioning, has three, and therefore the same program is multiple times inside the XML from dispatcharr. You are thinking this can cause problems, correct?

Yes, that would be my guess (but I don't know for certain).
Has this problem started only recently? If so, what has changed?
New channel lists? New EPG sources?

No, I had this problem since using dispatcharr. So yes, this could be the reason. The direct download of the epg from my provider is not working in the TV server so I switched to dispatcharr. So either I find a way to download it directly or delete the entries.

    Thanks for your help.
