I was planning to try your suggestion but I got impatient and decided to try Media Portal 2. After installing MP2 I had to remove MP1 (te TV server would not release the tuner cards to be used in MP2). MP2 is running now and when I try to reinstall MP1 it does NOT reinstall TV Server so I haven't been able to try the solution. MP2 has some quirks that were not present in MP1. Like having to wait for info menu to disappear before you can fast forward. Thanks for your help I think I will just continue with MP2.
