Anybody know where the TVseries grabber gets its information regarding episode lengths? The reason i ask is that a few of my episodes currently have 00:00 in their episode length fields which causes MP to not be able to skip forward when watching.

Ive been on the tvdb.com forums and one of the mods has confirmed that there is currently no field in the database for episode length, so where is TVseries getting the information from??

Ive tried manually editing episode lengths in Tvseries config by the way and it makes no difference, episode length still shows up as 00:00 within MP.

It uses the MediaInfo library, more specific mediainfo.dll, to get this info from the file itself.

Use the MediaInfo GUI application otherwise to see if the file you have is giving the correct info, or is possibly corrupt.

    MediaInfo

If the GUI tool works, but the MediaPortal and/or MP-TVSeries log file do not show the same detailed media information in debug mode, then update the mediainfo.dll file by downloading the current version from that SF project page. Be sure to get the 32-bit DLL, even on a 64-bit OS, as MediaPortal is 32-bit. For the MediaInfo GUI app you can use whatever version best matches your OS.

    Many thanks.

Just to confirm, everything is fixed now?

It will help others who are searching the forum and stumble on this thread if they know you were able to fix things with the given instructions, and if multiple ways were given to explain which one exactly did the trick for you.

Ok, so ive tried using MediaInfo GUI and im a bit confused as to how it all works. I can open any of my media files (eg .vob or .mkv) and it shows all the info about the video file, but what im confused about is which mediainfo.dll file does TVseries get its data from? There seems to be a mediainfo.dll file in both the MediaInfo GUI folder, and one in the Team Mediaportal folder.

Im guessing it comes from the one in the MediaPortal folder, but whats happening when i change some of the episode info (ie episode length) from within TVseries config itself and then click 'update MediaInfo'?

When i try and do this, the episode length seems to change in TVseries config, but not in MP itself.

    Confused!

If you change runtime and THEN click update mediainfo it will parse the file again and update (overwrite) what you just entered.

I'm not sure what you are asking?

What im ultimately asking is how do i change the value in the episode length field? Some of my video files are 00:00 minutes in their runtime field and its making me unable to skip forward backwards because MP doesnt know how long he video file is.

Ive tried changing the mediainfo tags in windows but cant figure out how to do it.

Even if you did change the field, MediaPortal doesnt use it as it scans MediaInfo itself on episode playback.
