Should I be using something other than IRSS to interface with my blaster (USB-UIRT)

No, IRSS is fine... or even necessary, because I don't know of any other blaster plugin that supports the USB UIRT. You just have to make sure IRSS is configured correctly.

Well...I've gone through the configuration of TV3 blaster and IRSS. I think the problem may be a bug in how IRSS configures itself. The first line in the error log reads "Could not find file 'C:\ProgramData\IR Server Suite\TV3 Blaster Plugin\ExternalChannelConfig1.xml'."

However, C:\ProgramData\ is not one of the standard directories in Windows 7 Pro, at least not the one installed on the system running MP.

Do I need to start crawling through the registry to fix this?

Would a totally different solution be to use the blaster that ships with the HD PVR or HD PVR 2?

    As always, thanks.

D'oh... I've been setting my systems to show those folders for more than ten years. I guess I forgot to do that when I upgraded the OS a couple of months ago.

Once I exposed the C:\ProgramData\ directory, I was able to see that all of the config files are there and they are correctly populated.

So...should I be turning off the hidden attribute on the folder/file?

Yes...the TV3 blaster plugin has been configured. I am able to use to send a test blast, which works perfectly.

Usually when this happens it indicates that the TV service hasn't been restarted after activating the plugin... but I think you've done that.

Could you post fresh log files please - I'm a bit stumped for the moment, and maybe new log files will provide some inspiration.

    Here you go.

BTW...the HD PVR 2 has been removed from the system. I had my "bricked" HD PVR (1) repaired, so that's what is on the system now.

So, if 1258 is the right channel number then your STB should have changed channel.

Maybe you haven't selected the right blaster port? Currently set for "default" I think...
