I've asked this question before, but have not had any luck. I keep getting the following error when trying to view tv over the network.

RTSPPlayer:exception while creating DShow graph Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {51B4ABF3-748F-4E3B-A276-C828330E926A} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80040273. at MediaPortal.Player.VMR9Util.AddVMR9(IGraphBuilder graphBuilder)
at MediaPortal.Player.RTSPPlayer.GetInterfaces()

I can view tv ok with both client and server on the same machine, and I can view the stream using VLC, so I know everything is setup ok, and the server is sending out the stream.

My two questions are :

1) Anybody know what is wrong?
2) How do I debug the client with the mytv plugin. I have setup everything to debug, but I obviously only get the built in client.

No One seems to have any idea about this, so I'm doing my own investigation. Here's what I found :

1) The COM object which cannot be created is the Video Mixing Renderer 9.
2) There is no problem on the server with this filter.
3) On the client, I cannot add the filter to a Graph in Graphedit.
4) on board s3 unichrome graphics pro seemingly supports VMR9, but not sure how to confirm?
5) If I use zoomplayer, I can choose vmr9 without a problem, but the graph produced does not include the above filter.

Should I just get a graphics card?

Steve,
I have had problems with onboard graphics in MP. Cannot remember if it was the same as you, but getting a new Nvidia Geforce card solved it. I wanted one anyway for the DVI output socket, so I could use a DVI to HDMI lead to my HD telly. Kind of killed 2 birds with one stone. As I say, not sure if yours is the same thing though.

Mike,

I've kind of confirmed to myself that this is not a problem with MP. As I said I have managed to view the streams using VLC, so the server is working properly. The thing that get's me though is that VMR9 seems to work with other applications, unless setting VMR on in these applications means use VMR9 IF it is available, if not go to overlay. Does anyone know how I could check if VMR9 is available on this machine? dxdiag seems to be ok...no problem running any of the tests!!
