    Hi All

    Well another problem :

I try to import : Terminator the sarah chronicles, unfortuanally without result .
Ofcourse lookup the filename at thetvdb.com! At the bottem of the serie is stated : This episode is locked at the season level and cannot be changed. It was locked by Imzadi
what does this mean and why can't i import this serie?

I CAN choose at import ( manually change name) , but in the end if i set this file for APROVE and go for import , there is still nothing to see of this tv serie.
I use this pars rule ( thx to Rochesse) :
    <series>\<series> S <season>\<series> S<season> E<episode>\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.ifo

I like to have dvd format ( more episodes per file).

    Can someone explain to me?

    Niels

It just means that you can't edit metadata for it on their site. It doesn't concern the importing processs at all.

Attach your logs....what do you mean nothing to see?
In Step one of the Wizard, I take it, you manually fill out a seriesname correct? Do you also fill out the series/ep numbers (thats needed currently)?
I use this pars rule ( thx to Rochesse) :
    <series>\<series> S <season>\<series> S<season> E<episode>\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.ifo

The parsing rules basically just do the filling out of the stuff you can do manually in the wizard for you.
Only 2 episodes per file are supported, so complete dvd isos will rarely work.

Well, I got the parser to recognize the episodes as season 2 episode 64 using string replacement and simple expressions, but it doesn't match it to thetvdb.com. So I was prompted to manually match the episodes myself. Now what?

Are you sure it doesn't match them and the page is just for review, it will always show, it is, a wizard after all? There is a little checkbox to only show stuff you need to do manually.
If you are going the manual route btw, you can just ignore the regex/pattern stuff altogether by filling out the relevant information in the Wizard.

    Hello Inker,

You asked me a few questions :
Do you also fill out the series/ep numbers (thats needed currently)? I use video_ts , so how can i add this to the video_ts files?
my complete path is (containing multiple episodes, in this case 3 episodes per video_ts map):
    D:\TV SERIES\Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles\S1\Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles S1 E1\VIDEO_TS
    D:\TV SERIES\Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles\S1\Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles S1 E2\VIDEO_TS
It will not import this serie, see attached pics, hopefully i can make myself more clearly.

    DVD's are not iso's!! just unpacked iso's into video_ts.
It's really hard to import some series. Hope to see mpseries will support dvd iso's and unpacked ( video_ts) dvd's . OR there has to be an alternative way to get it done?

Niels ( thx for replying Imker):D

You see that first Page in your screenshots where it says Step 1 of 4? There you can manually input Season Episode numbers. Just enter them into the respective columns.
my complete path is (containing multiple episodes, in this case 3 episodes per video_ts map):
    D:\TV SERIES\Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles\S1\Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles S1 E1\VIDEO_TS

Your parsing expression isn't working, which is why season/ep number arent filled out (or only partially/wrong). You are over complicating things. Try something like:
    "<series> S<season> E<episode>\video_ts\video_ts.ifo"
    DVD's are not iso's!! just unpacked iso's into video_ts.

As I said, only 2 episodes per file are currently supported. You have a few options:
    - You can link each file to the first episode only (and possibly the second) and live with the third being shown as unavailable (you can do this the way I told you above).
    - You can opt to split your rips (vobs) so that you have a maximum of two eps per file.
    - You can generate stub .ifo files for each episode that point to a vob (and possibly chapter) (dont know how to do that)

Or of course you can also write a patch or wait patiently for this limitation to be lifted.

Call me stupid........ i changed the filename to terminator.....that did the trick!
The dvd's are recognized now. Not in the way i wanted to be, but at least i can see the tvshows in mediaportal! For each season there are several episodes , spread amongst 4 or more dvd's.
    Now i see :
    season 1 : episode 1 = dvd 1 ( which contains several episodes)
season 1 : episode 2 = dvd 2 ( which contains several episodes), the actual episode is on dvd 1

    etc etc etc.

Till there is a solution i live with this "solution" .

:D Inker :D for your replys. To be honest i don't "get" everything you'd said , but thats my limitation i guess ;-)

Hi everybody. I used to use an expression that would allow me to choose several series that my wife and I watch and set them as favorites. I then had a view that would display all those series from oldest to newest and allow us to watch all our regular series in order.

    Code:
    Oldest Unwatched
    episode<;><Episode.Watched>;=;0<cond><Series.isFavourite>;=;1<;><Episode.FirstAired>;asc<;>200

I just wiped out MediaPortal and installed the new 1.1.0 and the 2.6 version of My TV Series. I tried to install all my old expressions in the database like I had before but noticed that it doesn't seem to be working as before. I also noticed that there was no area that I could set a favorites in the detailed view of the configuration screen. I saw that I could set a tag by right clicking and checking the favorites but how do I get them to show up in the above view. I noticed that the expression code appears to be a little different in the new stock views.

    Try changing the condition from
    Code:
    <Series.isFavourite>;=;1<;>
    to
    Code:
    <Series.ViewTags>;like;%|Favourites|%<;>
