Yes, i don´t have this Problem so extreem. If I start a film, for example, he starts within 4 seconds. There are no large delays with me over network drives.

DO you use Gbit/s lan? i've only 100Mbit/s lan without mediainfo it starts straight away...
Yes, i use Gigabit LAN between the PCs.

mhm ok so it will be related to that... that's bad don't know how to provide a fine version for everyone in this case... will think about that.

i really like your realease
for now, i only use the powerscheduler coming with your version... if i try to set to watch the network traffic, i only can do this up to 100 kb/s?! In the earlier releases, I could type anything i wanted...
the problem: my htpc runs with vista since 2 days (think, this was a bad idea). unfortunately, the traffic is about 150 kb/s also there is nothin connected.
the next problem is, that it won't prevent standby e.g. if webEPG is running, PS should prevent standby, but it doesn't. so my webepg is useless (with the "normal" PS this works as it should)

In the patch from JBravo is a limit for 100kb i think. But i also use Vista and have set it so 10kb/s and it is working fine. I think you should try to find out what is causing these 150kb/s.
Regarding the WebEPG - you should provide logs... without logs... i can't help.

hmm... my vista is a basic installation.. no other programs running, only MP
i tried the powerscheduler (with JBrav's patch) included in MP 1.0 and there you can choose >100 kb/s, but if u use this one, the configuration throws an exception...

there is alittle taskbar program called netlimiter it might identify which program / processers are responsible for the network traffic
