External web links occupy a lot of space (1 Viewer)

It looks like links in XenForo are now generating inline preview of the link target.
I find those too intrusive. Is it possible to disable them?

In a current thread, I have posted two external web links. On the preview, each web link displayed as one line. But after submitting the post, when I look at the thread, each link occupies a lot of vertical space. Have a look at these posts:

Is this an intentional change? If it is, the "advantage" of each web link occupying more vertical space is not obvious.

testing a plugin that allows a preview of the target link. The 'advantage' is that you know on what you click if it's an external link.

I don't like it. I think it should be disabled by default. It breaks the layout of existing content.

I would also prefer to have this disabled by default.
