i'm using X-factor skin and updated fanart handler with the 1.0 version.
i put all my fanart into the folder

C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Skin FanArt\music

but always the default one is displayed.
Attached is my log, can you pleade give advices?

Have you also copied the database of Fanart Handler?!

i did not have any fanart database, just installed the skin and then updated the plugin.Why it doesn't build the database picking the fanart from that folder?

hi cul8er ! so i got some free time and i was testing V 1.3 RC2 ,

over all evrting seams o.k .. the screper work good , the new "Default Backdrop When Fanart Not Available " work great
2 of the option , i figer from now on ,no need the multiimge code any more ,i delet it and all work great ,befor i delet it
i have the old problem thet the backdrop all time show for 2~3 sec' , if you have fanart or no have...

the only prob' i have is , thir is a dalay of 3 sec' after you start play and go to music now playing , untile the first fanart load,,

wich untile V1.0 was not have any dalays ,the first fanart all time was load waill you go to now playing ,olrady the first fanart was display ...

i can say in music section all work good (other section sorry no time ...)

Coul8er 1 thing , do you plan to implament in the plugin ,option to see folder and subfolder ?

you know way i ask ?... abut the idea to mack ,to play slideshow picture with music ... if you remember ...

wanted to check I am not doing anything silly first before adding an issue to google code

downloaded 1.3 RC2 and set everything up and seems to be working fine however I tried to add some files I downloaded manually.

eg. I created files in the thumbs\skin fanart\music folder where all the other pics sit called
air 2.jpg and air 3.jpg

No matter what I do though I can not get these to be recognised as files. I have tried re-scraping after downloading the files, renaming them to air (2).jpg like the downloaded files etc but no joy

The option in config seems to say HD resolution? The two files above are 800x534 and 1,278x960. Would this make a difference ?

from memory it will still use them unless you have enabled the option not to use low res images.
"air 2.jpg" should be fine for artist ="air"
if you've checked the minimun rez settings and the AR settings then try scale them up to 1920x1080 see if that works.

I have had no problem adding custom fanart to the music directory using %artistname% 1.jpg

Usually I have to restart mediaportal for them to appear.

odd..... I think the option to exclude low res images is ticked but it is set at the default of 400x400 so both pics above should be ok.

So you have added artwork manually using 1.3RC2 ?

1.3RC1 i think. Havn't tried the latest release yet.

having problems with this, for some reason the download page: fanart-handler - Project Hosting on Google Code only seems to have v1.0 and i cant see any mention of 1.3RC2?

using that v1.0 with mp1.10 but i see no option anywhere to import art.

Just use 1.0 until 1.3 is release to all users, it's really only for the testers @ this stage.
There is no import button, you just copy your fanart into the music subdirectory as per the wiki
and if you want to scrape images then tick the scraper boxes then press the start scrape button it's all in the wiki on the website

I added this to the issue tracker, as I thought it was a good idea too

Issue 65: Enhancement - Now Playing Picture Slideshow

1. Ability to definite picture slideshow directory
2. Ability to automatically recurse subdirectories inside that folder
3. Ability to define a toggle skin control that turns picture slideshow on/off in the nowplaying xml skin file
4. When the toggle is off nowplaying screen behaves as per normal
5. When the toggle is on, instead of showing nowplaying fanart it displays random slides from the picture slideshow directory

Obviously you'd have to make sure the picture slideshow doesn't appear in
the music playing overlay for the other screens.
