    Re: Fanart Handler Plugin v2.0 (and music fanart scraper)

    Has local scraping changed?

    I had some files I manually downloaded called
    Delphic(1).jpg
    Delphic(2).jpg
    Delphic(3).jpg
    for a band unsuprisingly called Delphic. These were picked up fine in previous versions but I have created a new database .

    these files are put straight into thumbs\skin fanart\music but pluin picks the band name up as Delphic 1 / Delphic 2 / Delphic 3

    What should the correct naming format be if I am adding files myself?

    Also when I tried renaming, the files got imported again with the wrong and name (so I had two rows for Delphic 1). I clicked on cleanup missing fanart and records were deleted but the grid view still had both sets of images on (closing and opening the config app put this right but looks like the GUI is not being updated after cleanup)

    edit: Managed to get the right import by calling them
    Delphic 1.jpg but the downide of this I noticed is that U2 images are broken and listed as just U...

    I'm trying to use the Fanart Handler for my "Internet" BasicHome (StreamedMP) menu. I have a couple of backdrops, basically pictures of Firefox and such, that I want to be displayed there, randomly.

    Is that possible with Fanart Handler? I tried creating a new directory in thumbs\Skin Fanart\, added a few pictures and selected the folder it in the StreamedMP BasicHome editor, but it didn't work. Is there any way to get this to work?

    Yes, but not the way you are doing it, FH has a set of fixed directories and will not see additional dirs you create in it's folder.

    You get round this by using one of the unused dirs, games or scorecenter are the normal choice. Add you images to one of these dir and in the StreamedMP editor select the menu item, edit it ensure you tick the 'Enable Fanart for this Item' and select your chosen dir from the drop down. Save and generate a new menu and all should work.

    Cheers

    Got this error on MePo start:
    2010-05-18 16:12:17.008446 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: SQLiteClient: FanartHandler.db3 cmd:sqlite3_prepare16:pvm=null err:ERROR detailed:table TimeStamps already exists query:CREATE TABLE TimeStamps (Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, Key TEXT, Value TEXT, Time_Stamp TEXT);

    What if I'm already using all the fixed dirs?

    In that case you can't do what you want, you have reached the capability of the plugin. I have a enhancement request in with cul8er to allow for custom directories - go and star this issue, the more people want it the more likley cul8er is to add it.

    :sorry:

    I expected you to say that, so no worries.

    Where can I find your request? I'd vote on it for sure.

    Thanks!

    Since Ver 1.8 Fanart Handler Plugin should support multi-artist files. But I don't get it to work. Is there a special name convention for these files like ARTIST1 FEAT. ARTIST2 or ARTIST1 & ARTIST2?

    Hi tombo61,

    The plugin supports a scenario like this;
    1. Your track is tagged with the artist name paul simon;art garfunkel
    2. The scraper will download fanart for paul simon
    3. The scraper will download fanart for art garfunkel
    4. When playing that track fanart for both art and paul will cycle.

    But it all depends on that the track is tagged with both names and using the ; character as separator because then MP is able to recognize the two artists and update its music database correctly.

    best regards
