But before adding new plugins, please check what version of fanart handler you run and let me know. What is the version number reported in your fanarthandler.log (1.9 or 1.10).

You could be right, but the problem is not the scrapping time, the cpu load it is.

EDIT: yeah, 6 mins by 1.8 too, but no cpu overload and smooth MP run.
Now I will completely delete all and start from 0.

EDIT2: I deleted all (in program files and program data), installed MP, left everything intact but music database, and then I installed FH 1.10.
The problem is still there, 1.8 still fine.

EDIT3: Just for fun. MP 1.0.4.24975 on XPSP3: same problem.

Hi vrm.

I think I have found the problem causing high CPU when scraping. Will provide a test version later today. My CPU went from 98% down to 35% during scrape with this version.

Here is a new TEST version that hopefully fixes the reported stuttering and high CPU usage during a scrape for fanart in MP (Haven't looked at the scraping in configuration yet). If you would like to test this version, download the attached file, extract it and the replace your existing fanarthandler.dll file (in the /plugins/process directory) with the one in the attachment.

Please let me know how it works.

Hey, it looks like you've made some progress
Scrapper process doesn't start from configurator but it works within MP.
Then I tried to start again from configurator, still no luck.
However, it seems cpu issue has gone.

Thanks for your feedback. I had only fixed the problem when scraping in MP Client. Missed testing from MP Configuration and you are correct that it is a bug. Attached version fixes this and when scraping in MP configuration my CPU is about 10%

Hi cul8er, I have one issue with version 1.1. I have Moving Pictures installed, and it downloaded a bunch of backdrops. Fanart handler 1.09 correctly identifies this - if I go to Video Fanart --> Manage Fanart, it shows all the Moving Pictures backdrops. But after installing version 1.1, Fanart handler somehow lost the Moving Pictures backdrops - they no longer show up in the Video Fanart section. Reverting to version 1.09 fixed this - the video fanart showed up again. I tried with the modified 1.1 version from your post - the problem is still there. There are no such issues with the music fanart.

Btw I am using Mediaportal 1.02.

Hi kuku,

It was an error before (in pre 1.10 versions). The moving picture and tvseries fanart should not be in that list because if they are and you start deleting images they will get deleted from your harddrive and Moving Picture for example will re download it.

They do however still appear in MP if you have the random movingpicture or tvseries property. Also available to the movie (selected) property when browsing movies in plugins like myVideos. So all is still available to fanart handler in MP, the only difference it that you cannot and should never been able to manage them from the fanart handler plugin. Manage these images are done by tvseries and moving pictures.
