The basic idea is that to-be-displayed-info is pulled from the music tagging data. Nothing to be said against FH displaying background data for artist 1-n of a given track. Notwithstanding I still believe that tracks should be correctly tagged. The issue with automation is that it can't distinguish between what is correct and what is not.

After an evening of testing i just figured out the the generated thumbs quality based on the folder.jpg (which is the SAME image i embedded in my tags) gives way better thumbnails then from embedded art...
dB scan with thumbs created from tags resulted in 102 MB of thumbs, were the same scan now with thumbs created from folder.jpg results in 192 MB thumbs.

Visually, I think the quality is the same, probably in folders for image compression level of 12, and generates a MP such as the level of 10 when extracts from the tag.

Nope, the thumbnails created from embedded coverart show more 'grain' in the picture. The thumbnails created from folder.jpg look cleaner/sharper for sure, and are bigger in size. I was just wondering why this would happen, but not really a question that is supposed to be in this thread anyways
Just give it a try with my thumbnail branch and you'll see the difference.

It is quite possible that they were transformed while maintaining the tag, or extract and save to disk. Just MP resize them, under specified in the configurator.

The thumbnails created from folder.jpg look cleaner/sharper for sure, and are bigger in size.

Most likely the MP, they are simply copies, although it may change their size, under specified.

Just give it a try with my thumbnail branch and you'll see the difference.
