Thanks CCob for the heads up. I also thought the suggestions you offered on the other thread made a lot of sense to attack the Rewind Fast Forward problem. Of course I'm not a developer nor do I play one on TV...
In a way I understand the devs saying it's not a high priority for them, but they perhaps are forgetting that most new people to DVR/HTPC solutions are coming from the Video Recorder area and are basically "hardwired" into pushing Rewind to go backwards and Fast Forward to go forwards. Fixing this issue would gain much on the "wife and family" scale, as it would behave more like a VCR which is what most folks are used to.
I'm certain this has already occurred to the developers... but there are several open source video players out there that can do rewind and fast forward perfectly well. Would it be possible to import code from some other open source video playing project (with due acknowledgement, of course) to fix this issue?
