Hi,

when I try to fastforward or rewind it works nicely on 2x and 4x. But when i speed up to 8x or more the picture freezes and it's hard to know when to stop. This doesn't seem to be a codec or a skin problem.
A couple of svn before this was working...
Help please!

Yep, same for me here, but even at 4x, it freezes and it's hard to know where you are in the video.
Plus sometimes it just won't fast forward at all and resume to almost the same point...

Any advice woul dbe appreciated

Thanks.

Hi,

I already gave up on this and I'm now using the skip steps. This works nicely!
Hopefully this helps.

    Hi,

The short answer is that ffwd/rew has never worked reliably (x2 is generally okay) and that this is a fundamental limitation that MP is unable to work around.

There is no realistic chance of this ever being fixed, unless someone makes a massive breakthrough.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Any news on that?

Step skipping is okay when you approximately know how much forward you must go. But if you don't know the time (for example skipping commercials in recording) you have to use fast forwarding and only one working for me is x2.
