From time to time I have to rebuild my tv episode database. Sometimes parts, sometimes the entire DB. No problem with the import, but I feel bad that so much data (episode info, thumbnails, banners, etc) end up being reloaded from TheTVDB.com. Seems a waste of bandwidth.

Does My TVSeries have a way to delete a series or the entire database without deleting downloaded data? Maybe by creating (and managing) a persistent local cache of TheTVDB.com files downloaded?

Just hoping to be a good citizen.

Most of the data is thumbnails/posters/fanart and thats not stored in the database, so if you dont delete the thumbs folder you are sweet. Imports of just data doesnt take very long at all. We also cache data, but the cache is automatically deleted if the series has an update online (which happens quite often)...really only benefits imports that occur with-in very short time frames.

Is it posible to have the plugin look inside the tv shows folder for images such as fanart, series/season posters, clear art etc?

All my shows have these images inside the relevent show folder, it would be nice if it could look in the folders in a similar way that movingpictures does. wouldn't have to worry about backing up databases or artwork folders then if you needed to reinstall.

That's sort of what I had hoped would be the solution. It just seems like it's doing a fresh new download.

But something is deleting thumbnail directories. Many shows that have been deleted from the database are also missing from the
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs directory.

Maybe I did a clean install and it wiped it then.

Well, maybe my idea won't help as much as I hoped. But how about this: I've got 4 pc's all reading from the server. It'd be awesome to only have to maintain one database.
