Hi,
MP 1.0.8
Download and install ffdshow20050216
Be aware, 2 dlls are missing, can be downloaded
here and here
In MP TV-settings
Overlay
Video Codec Intervideo Video (from WinDVD6)
Audio Codec ffdshow audio codec
Post Proc: enable ffdshow :D
In ffdshow video decoder configuration
OSD:
Check this (to se that it works) input size, outputsize, cpu load
Set vertical pos to 30% for OSD
OUTPUT:
Uncheck all other colorspaces than YV12 (keep only YV12 checked)
Check "use overlay mixer"
Check "allow output format changes..."
Uncheck "Connect to comp. filters only"

Close and launch MP.

I haven't tested any filters yet but I'm happy that it seems stable...

Please post if You find any settings that improves the TV-picture. I should test more next evening.
bye /gabbe

thx gabbe for this tip. i tried this a few times and it have never been worked. with the new ffdshow version it works perfectly. i have never been seen a better picture. no flickering for me with 0.1.0.8 with timeshifting on. without ffdshow and go backward thru timeshiftbuffer, the picture was stuttering very very much after that. with ffdshow no problem. switch channels, jump thru timeshiftbuffer, allways perfect smoothy picture.

Where do i have to copy those 2 dll-files? MP always says that ffdshow is not installed (so i cant choose ffdshow audio codec).

    Hi,

ffdshow postprocessing can be used to enhance the picture quality. There are some guides in the www which explain the most used settings in ffdshow. You need a fast CPU to get it working fluid.

Most used are resizing methods. I am using postprocessing in My Videos to scale the videos to my screen resolution of 720x576. That is all my CPU is able to do. ;) I would be glad to enable blur and sharpness, too.

    Example: http://www.htpcnews.com/main.php?id=ffdshowdvd_1
