winni - make sure your tv/monitor can handle different refresh rates like 24 or 60 or 50, otherwise it's not a lot of use.

before installing 4TR everything was working fine. After that it didn't change the refreshrate at PAL. After uninstalling everything is working fine again

I'll have a look at this, but perhaps you can describe the issue in detail (and possibly post a detailed bug report on our forum)?

a normal log looks like that if I start PAL:

    2009-04-15 01:12:11.068576 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.AdaptRefreshRate: framerate on file G:\Videos\TimeShift\live1-0.ts.tsbuffer is 25
    2009-04-15 01:12:11.068576 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.SetRefreshRateBasedOnFPS: current refreshrate is 24hz - changing it to 50hz
2009-04-15 01:12:11.070576 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job in order to change refreshrate C:\refreshrate\50hz.bat
    2009-04-15 01:12:16.907576 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job completed

    now with installed 4TR:

    I start a 24p Movie:
    9-04-14 21:49:47.351186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.AdaptRefreshRate: framerate on file E:\...\2 Fast 2 Furious.mkv is 23,976
    2009-04-14 21:49:47.355186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.SetRefreshRateBasedOnFPS: current refreshrate is 50hz - changing it to 24hz
2009-04-14 21:49:47.357186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job in order to change refreshrate C:\refreshrate\24hz.bat
    2009-04-14 21:49:52.999186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job completed

    everything ok.
but now I start my TV:
    2009-04-14 21:50:29.463186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.SetRefreshRateBasedOnFPS: current refreshrate is 24hz - changing it to 24hz
2009-04-14 21:50:29.463186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job in order to change refreshrate C:\refreshrate\24hz.bat
    2009-04-14 21:50:34.779186 [Info.][MPMain]: RefreshRateChanger.RunExternalJob: running external job completed

that's working. It should be recognized as 25fps and change it to 50hz...

Are you playing live TV over .ts or over RTSP? That's probably the reason.

Try toggling the checkbox in For The Record's MediaPortal plugin's settings (using MediaPortal's Configuration.exe).

Judging from the code I see no reason why this should not work with For The Record installed, the refresh rate changer decides what to do based on the media being played back, nothing more. And this media is the same .ts file or the same RTSP stream with or without For The Record. So I'm puzzled...

    I have another question.

I was trying to skin the channel dialog (The "On now" dialog) but could anyone please point me in the right direction, I cannot seem to locate the file. Could anyone point me to the right one? :D
