I think I narrowed down the issue a little bit. My first problem was that I accidentally imported a TVguide.xml file AND synced with TV3E... That produce duplicate channels...

The best scenario to follow is to import the XMLTV guide, then make sure all channels are linked correctly (so the names match with TVE3's channels), and then turn on the DVB-EPG syncing in the plugin. That way no new duplicate channels will be created.

The other issue is that 1.0.10.0 does not link any channels at all for me, while 1.0.8.0 works well. 1.0.10.0 doesn't show any channels in TV3E config, but switching to 1.0.8.0 immediatly lists all available channels.

Any ideas?

Not immediately. I'm writing this from an internet cafe in Thailand, so it's a bit difficult to look further into this right now :D But I'll have a look when I get back home.

Anyone else with this problem?

And what do you mean with "it doesn't show any channels"? Is the list empty, or is there no list at all on the screen (possible connection problem to TV Scheduler's services)? Have you checked the TVE3 logs to see if there are any errors from the plugin there?

If we can't get any closer I may ask you for a backup of your database to help me duplicate the problem. But I need to get back first of course :)

    Hi dvdfreak,

So you didn't bring your development environment to Thailand ;)

The way I address the first one above is simply to no copy the TVgude.xml to TVScheduler anymore. Instead it will collect all info from the TV3E database, which works just fine.

On the second topic there are no channels visible in the config. Having said that I don't know what's in the log. I'm also on the road.

Let's catch-up later! And enjoy your stay inThailnad, you've done a great job with this application and surely deserves some time off from all of us users...

    Merry Xmas!

    /Peter

    Afraid not :D

So the grid-view is there, but it is empty? Yes, do please check the logs when you get a chance. When I get back you can send me a backup of your database...

Thank you, happy new year to all! :)

PS: actually, I'm in Cambodia right now (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battambang), they have internet cafes everywhere these days ;) Back in Thailand tomorrow normally :)

    Hi again,

I did a fresh install of TV Scheduler this morning. Again I tried with the latest (1.0.10.0) bit I can not get any channels to show up in the TV3 plugin window. As soon as I revert to 1.0.8.0 I get a list of channels and they are marked as "Linked". I noticed one thing though, the version of the app is 1.0.10.0 but the TV3E plugin is labeled 1.0.9.0 in the config still... I know you released two versions on the same day so this may be a simple typo?

Having said that it seems as the EPG data is not synced from TV3E to TVScheduler. Perhaps I misunderstood the functionality, I was under the impression that there are two choices how to get EPG data to the scheduler. Either through TVGuide.xml import (by copy the file to the xmltv directory), or by having the TV3E plugin sync the EPG data from the TV3E database to TV Scheduler. The former works fine, the latter does not.

Nothing has been logged in the logfile of TVScheduler since the install so it won't help me much... In the TV3E log there are only entries when I enter the plugin config and when I leave, i.e. "2007-12-29 07:05:34.593750 [1]: TvSchedulerSync: Configuration (de)activated"

I tried to flip the "Sync TV3E EPG..." but it seems to make no difference. Is that the button to control whether to import TVguidel.xml or read the TV3E database for EPG info?

    Any ideas?

    /Peter

UPDATE: Hmm, can't really reproduce this any more. Now the EPG data in TV3E is properly propagated to TVScheduler. Probably me then...

Having said that, here is a request for new functionality. I've been playing around with the SQL db a lot, and had to delete it a couple of times when I got duplicate channels etc. It would be very useful to be able to export the rules. This way I wouldn't have to manually recreate all the rules once the db deleted. Minor changes in channel names etc could be easily taken care of with some Search&Replace in the exported XML file. What do you think?

    /Peter

    hi,

i have problems with the newest version of tvscheduler. the tve3 plugin does not work here. there is no epg data tranferred from tvserver to the tvscheduler. i cannot see the channels in the tvserver plugin too.

does anybody have one of the older versions?

have a nice evening and thank you very much

Hi - I just tried installing this great sounding app for the first time. I've got the service running and the console on the same PC as the server. I'm running XP Pro SP2 with the 30/12/07 build of TV Server. It's a brand new install and all patching is up to date.

When I go into the console most of the options work - the exception is "TV Guide" when ever I access that I get a crash. (Windows "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...")

In the event viewer I see a .NET Runtime 2.0 error - Not sure what other information is of interest - let me know what info you need.

You can see in the attached log that the import of the guide works just fine :)

Thanks in advance for your help.

    I think I've discoverd a little bug.

When adding a new scheduling, like

    Contains - Allo;Allo

It wil show you all the programs that contains the word 'Allo' and not the programs that contains these words twice.

    Can anyone confirm this.
