UPDATE ALERT

I just uploaded a new beta release!

Beta release (November 17th, 2007)

Changes since the previous release:

  • Upcoming recordings/alerts/suggestions are now sortable.
  • Some data-binding tweaks to the management console panels.
  • Some tweaks to the WiX setup script, hopefully fixing the setup issues that were reported.
PS: if you are using the TVE3 plugin, stop the TVService or disable the plugin, install new TV Scheduler, copy over the new TVE3 plugin DLLs, and then restart TVService or re-enable the plugin.

Added EPG synchronization thread to TVE3 plugin to sync TVE3's EPG into TvScheduler for DVB-EPG users

How does this work, in my mind it means importing channels with epg, as nothing showing either in plugin or TVScheduler, just so everyone is clear on this.

ps. you know my previous post regarding calender not showing correctly and being overlapped, that issue has gone.

    Thanks for your hard work.

    Installed new version.
I've got the same message (see attachment) about service's start but the service resulted started.
Before installation I've stopped tvscheduler and tvserver services.

The database was not erased this time :)

Does EPG import work without duplicates in this version ? I've disabled windows scheduled copy of xmltv file and enabled EPG import in TVScheduler plugin. When it will syncronize ?

    Suggestion:
create a version number on the program itself and on the installer/zip files ;)

Well, when you turn the EPG syncing on, the TVE3 epg information will be copied over to the TvScheduler database. So if you rely on DVB-EPG, turn the option in TVE3 on so it will grab this data, and then also turn the setting on in my plugin to copy over the data once more to TvScheduler.

Currently that's the only supported scenario.

If you also want to use XMLTV (at the same time) you'll end up with duplicate channels. I'll see what I can do about that, but using the linking I mentioned before would have been too easy and I won't be able to do it this way. If people think this is really important I'll give this higher priority, feedback is welcome :)

ps. you know my previous post regarding calender not showing correctly and being overlapped, that issue has gone.

Excellent, I did some work on the layout, so it seems my changes have helped.

    Thanks for your hard work.

    And thank you for testing!

OK, so not perfect yet, but definately an improvement! Fortunately we are moving in the right direction :)

If you turn the plugin off in TVE3, move away from the overview screen (otherwise it will not have any effect), then move back, turn it back on, and once more move away from that screen (phew, complicated explanation ;)), THEN, my plugin will be reactivated in TVE3, and it should immediately sync if the option is turned on.

    Suggestion:
create a version number on the program itself and on the installer/zip files ;)

Just yesterday a friend of mine mentioned this as well, and in a way it's so obvious I'm almost ashamed I forgot to add this ;) So I'll add a visible version number soon.

    Hi

First of all, this is great, so far (1 day) works a treat.

I am using WebEPG to create the TVguide.xml file. This is run on a schedule by the WebEPG Grabber plugin, works fine.

I then have to manually move the file to the dot-i\TV Scheduler\xmltv directory.

    Can this be automated ?

    Thanks

    Hi visteon,

Just create a scheduled task to run a couple of minutes after your webepg grabber. This is my .bat file for this:

    copy "C:\Program\Team Mediaportal\MediaPortal\XMLTV\TVguide.xml" "C:\Program\dot-i\TV Scheduler\xmltv"

    /Peter

When creating a schedule I can search for Title, Episode title, Episode number and Description. I think it's not entirely clear what happens if more than one is used. I had to check and it looks like if I want to search and record all programs with a keyword in Title OR Description two different Schedules are needed.

Could there be an easy way to choose between OR/AND for the four search criterias?
