Is it a good idea to add this scheduler to the Plugins & extensions section or something of that kind.
Because when I use the search option on the website, this great piece of software cannot be found :s
(I think it's one of the big flaws of this site... a lot of plugins, usefull software, extensions, etc. are very hard to find. A seperate section on the forum for this kind of stuff could be very usefull for a lot of people)

Edit: Does this also work in combination with MediaPortal? (so not tv-server)

No, it's TVE3 only at the moment since I only made a plugin for TVE3. But I posted the source to the plugin a week or so ago, so if anyone wants to make a regular MP plugin out of it, he or she is more than welcome to...

When trying to install the web access part on win xp sp2, the installation fails, but no error code

Have you checked the event log? You do have IIS installed on your XP machine, right?

A clear guide can be found here: http://www.razorx.com/tutorials/IISonXPPro/

I just realized there is an easy way for me to enhance "New episodes only" for those with EPG data that does not provide episode information. I realized that a lot of the time the episode title might actually be present in the description somewhere or even if it isn't, that the description describes the actual episode.

So in that case I can have the NewEpisodesOnly rule fall back on the description itself, if there is no episode information. In a lot of cases this should work just fine I think, and would be a great improvement for those people that rely on DVB-EPG guide data.

Ok, so let me get this straight in laymans terms.
This program, TVscheduler service, runs outside MP.
It downloads the tv schedule for the channels you have and gives you a very powerful and advanced piece of recordingsoftware...outside MP.
Now, when all the recordings are planned in this TVscheduler service, it links back to MP to make MP record (each as manual recording) the shows you just planned in the TVscheduler service.

This is right, right?

Edit: this software is essential for good htpc usage, it should be smack bang on the frontpage!
Why isn't there more attention from the dev team for this, this is every persons dream if you want good (and advanced) recordings in MP, as the current state of scheduling in MP is truly unreliable IMO. Again, thanks so much for all your effort!

Yes :D

BTW, people, I just uploaded a version 1.0.10.0 which fixes a small but nasty bug, and adds the description enhancement I just talked about for the "New episodes only" rule.

Error 11708 is indeed not a lot of information... ;) Anyone else got it installed correctly, or does everyone get an error 11708? I did an install on my own XP SP2 yesterday without problems, wonder what the problem could be...

Did you install IIS just now? Perhaps its .NET support is not enabled? Try an "aspnet_regiis -i" from a command prompt.

    i just installed it

when trying "aspnet_regiis -i" it says it doesn't know that command

found the problem, it had to do with "aspnet_regiis -i" and asp.net not being installed
