I am using the TV3 plugin to sinc the TV DB. I managed to clean all existing program data in TV3 and Scheduler. I loaded new data from another provider in TV3. How do I now force an immediate update to Scheduler?

The exteral channel id's of the 2 providers match. Since the external channel id's of the 2 providers match, TV3 was up and running with the new data in seconds.

I have re-installed my server and cannot get TV scheduler to work anymore. I get the error message

Failed to start TV Scheduler service
    Access is denied

I am running a 64-bit operating system now with MS SQL Express.
Any help would be much appreciated

    Cheers,
    Rich

First of all thanks to Midget and Vertiger for the translations, I'll try them out asap and let you know if tweaks are needed or not. And I'll include them with the next release of course.

How about a translation to Afrikaans rekenaar? ;) As you say: "Ondersteun Afrikaans", so let's indeed support Afrikaans! :D

If you only use the syncing from TVE3 to TV Scheduler the channels created in TV Scheduler seem to use the "Name" as external ID and "DisplayName" as displayname in TV Scheduler. Perhaps this was not the greatest choice on my part, but I figured a channel that came from DVB-EPG would not necessarily have an external ID (but perhaps this is wrong).

To force the syncing to be done immediately, easiest is to disable the TVE3 plugin, move away from that panel in TV Server's console. Then move back to the panel and re-activate my plugin. That should make it re-load and re-initialize the plugin, which will immediately sync the EPG data then.

I have not tried TV Scheduler on a 64-bit system myself, anyone else (succesfully) running it on XP64 or Vista 64-bit?

Anything more helpful in the system's event viewer?

Hi - as you know I'm a HUGE fan of TV Scheduler - just upgraded to lastest version and really like it.

I can confirm the console now works via RDP :)

Question: for the web access would it be easy/possible for the tv guide to default to current time when you open the guide (in a similar way to how it defaults to current day)??

Keep up the really great work :)
Also BTW the web interface doesn't work on safari (!) my wife has a macbook and when I click the tv guide link the "working" dialog comes up (with moving cursor) but it never moves forward.

I'm afraid not, it just says
"The TV Scheduler service failed to start due to the following error:
    Access is denied. "
Not sure what has been denies access to.
Would be good to know if anyone else is running it on a 64-bit OS though.

Just been un-installing and re-installing and managed to get it going. The default directory it installed into was C:\program files (x86)\dot-i...
I installed it to program files without the brackets and it worked.
So is there anything in your program which would struggle with brackets in the path?
So it wasn't really a major problem once I knew what it was.

    Cheers,
    Richard

I was thinking about it when I saw your initial request. Problem is that I do not use the web access part myself. Will reconsidder if I later decide to install IIS.

Thanks for the answer to my question.

    Cool!

It's supposed to already do this, so I guess there's a small bug somewhere that prevents it from doing this then, so I'll have a look to fix this by the next release.

Keep up the really great work :)

That's too bad, but I've heard that Safari and a site that relies on javascript a lot frequently gives problems :( She can always install FireFox on her macbook... In time I can try to follow up more browser-specific problems if they turn up, but unfortunately for the moment I have my hands full with other stuff and I'm already glad that I can support both IE (preferably 7) and FireFox.

Has anyone tried Opera with Web Access yet?

I'm glad you found a workaround for the problem, but I still can't explain it. I see no reason why a bracket in the path would give problems, but I can try to reproduce this now that we know what causes it to fail.

    Midget, Vertiger:

What's the translation for "Skip repeats"?

This will be a new checkbox in the "When" secion of a schedule, and when checked it will skip all programs that are marked as "Repeat" in the guide (so this will only work if your guide data provides this information).

Actually I need some more strings translated for some additional columns for the upcoming programs list:

"Aspect" (The video aspect, standard or widescreen)
    "Rating" (parental rating, e.g. "PG")
    "Stars" (the star-rating, a number)
"Repeat" (checkbox that is set if the program is marked as being a repeat)
"Premiere" (checkbox that is set if the program is marked as being a premiere -- first time on TV)

    Skip repeats - Wiederholungen auslassen
    Aspect - Seitenverhältnis
    Rating - Altersbegrenzung
    Stars - Beurteilung
    Repeat - Wiederholung
    Premiere - Premiere
