Hi there. I have been using Media Portal and the My TVSeries plugin for the past year or so now and have just run into my first spot of trouble.

For some reason the series 'Rawhide' cannot be found in thetvdb.com by My TVSeries. Every time I try to scan for it, I receive the 'Local Series: rawhide' dialog box. When I choose the manual search option, I have tried everything. 'Rawhide', 'rawhide', 'Rawhide 1959'...you get the idea. None of them seem to connect with thetvdb.com.

Now of course I went to thetvdb.com with my web browser and searched for Rawhide manually. It immediately popped up, so it is definitely there, it just seems that somehow there is a problem when the plugin searches for it.

I was hoping that there was a way that I could manually force My TVSeries to find the show using the series ID number or something like that. However, when I went into the Configuration -> Details I could only change the series name, and not the number. Is there a way that I can force this series to be recognized?

Thanks in advance!

Andy

You can open the Database and change the number manually but if you know nothing about Databases you could screw the pooch.

I have noticed that TVdb.com is a bit flaky at the moment... they are having trouble with hosting and really need to be on a HUGE backbone server... this can (I have seen people posting about it) cause these search error. You could just try again at a really quiet time (I don't know when that is! 2 in the morning USA?) LOL

If you want to go about the DB route say and I will talk you though it (you can always backup you DB first).

Thanks a lot, Zas. I don't think it is a problem with thetvdb.com server, because I have added other shows that have been picked up without a hitch. Also, I have been trying for about the past two weeks and no luck. So, I guess I will go the database route.

I have a basic understanding of how it works, so shouldn't really need any help with it (knock on wood!). I am just curious, though, do I need to only add the series number and the rest will be picked up from thtvdb.com? Or do I need to manually input all of the information? Thanks!

    http://www.thetvdb.com/api/GetSeries.php?seriesname=RawHide

    Code:
XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: </br>.
    Location: http://www.thetvdb.com/api/GetSeries.php?seriesname=RawHide
    Line Number 10, Column 397:

There is a XML parsing error, I can fix it online so it should work in 15mins or so.

Someone put HTML code into the series description...The online database really needs some error checking before people submit changes online that it can't handle.

Well, ltfearme, that did it. Thanks a lot, just reloaded the series and it worked like a charm. Cheers!

Hi (sorry for resurrecting an old thread)

I am having the same issue with series Darker Than Black

    XMLParsingError.png

its not recognising the Korean language added at the end of Korean listing and that is killing the whole parsing.

help would be greatly appreciated :)
