Freesat EPG in UK anyone? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone
I'm still wondering if anyone has success getting the OTA EPG data for FreeSAT ?
I've tried all combinations with the grabber, even tried to tune the Freesat.info channel, (which appears to be history)
I have been assured the EPG is in the channels, and I have got a cheapy Freesat box that grabs the EPG without internet connection so the data is OTA somewhere
Is it a case that the MP1 grabber is not compatible with the Freesat EPG data ?
Any advice would be most appreciated

The Freesat Info channel is still there but it looks like they've removed the audio (KoS and Flysat list APID 3603, DBR scan from today doesn't have one) so MP isn't adding it as a radio station any more.

I use EPG Collector to get the Sky EPG (it also supports Freesat) and then import it through the XmlTv Plugin, this post might help.

What you say also makes sense why the Freesat channel showed up in TV, not Radio channels when I set it up manually
You have answered my question so i am assured I am not doing something wrong and I will try the EPG collector solution

Well, this is unexpected.

If there is no setting that can be specified to persuade MP to use this channel for the EPG, possibly a change to "TV Server" itself is required. @mm1352000 ?

During my efforts to try and get a working EPG grab from Freesat I was surprised that the cheapy Manhattan SX HD Freesat box I picked up from Tesco populated the epg instantly without any internet connection.
It looks like the guide is present OTA but not being grabbed by the Mediaportal system
At least I can stop tearing my hair out trying different ways of configuring the EPG grabber. I am going to try the EPG Collector route for now

Just an FYI on this, I'm using 2 different EPG source, one broadcast over DBV-T2 and the other is Freesat, which last night at least, was working as expected with the next 7 days EPG filled. I can double check and confirm tonight what channel I'm using for the Freesat EPG on my TV config...

I'd guess that grabbing the EPG from TRP 1 would work because it's on the same transponder.
