For the past day or so MediaPortal has been a pain in the a**. Since about yesterday, MediaPlayer would freeze when changing video (eg. when watching one video file but then stopping it and selecting another), and also when starting TV. I have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden, all worked fine on until about yesterday. I know have to rely on WinTV for watching TV, meaning timeshifting needs to be turned on manually and recording takes an age to start).

Like i said i have no idea what's causing it all of a sudden, if it's something on my end or not. Please can someone help!

EDIT: Sorry, forgot to attach logs
EDIT 2: Damn, looks like i posted this in the Bug reports section by mistake. Was gonna delete it, and repost in General Support, but there's no "Delete" option. Please can the moderators move it? Sorry.

    i'm glad i found this.
i have the very excact same problem.

do i really have to uninstall powerdvd 8 ultra?
i really want to keep powerdvd. it's playing marvellous.
altough when i select the powerdvd codec in MP it doesn't seem to work. i still have the bad PQ.

you know of any other workarounds for this problem?

    Hi Montechristo

First i would run filmerit (link in sig) and see if you have any codec problems, use the padlock button to unlock and repair, reboot.

After that we need a lot more information, hardware for one, which version of MP, hopefully RC2 with no svn and then logs need to be supplied, these can be got hold of, by going to the Start menu and running the mediaportal debug tool, follow the instructions and upload them using the forum advanced + feature and attach them to your post.

    Regards

    hi Ray,

i already runned filmerit and it didn't find any faults or bugs.
    i use RC2.
i already attached a log file in the thread i started in "mediaportal 1 talk"

but i will ad my hardware specs in that post. otherwise i will end up with a dozen threads about the same problem.

    thanks,

    Montecristo
