    Hi there :)

    I am no expert with logs, but I did see a few things that I am wondering about.

    1. See your latest logs are using PureVision. Do you get the same errors with Blue3(w)?

    2. Errors about MP Control plugin. Seems that you have somewhere a wrong plugin version installed. If I am not mistaken that is from IRSS.

    3. I think FX5200 is DX9 compliant. Did you try to use the latest drivers?

    :oops: those logs are a bit irrelevant. Being that I cant sit around, when something needs conquering. especially when its my tv.:D I re installed the program again and tried fresh. I updated drivers, and changed codex. And Im not sure. but I believe what I have is a reception problem. If that makes any sense. :confused: I noticed that the channels that didn't come in right away and flickered and what not, were the ones that crashed the program. so I deleted those channels and so far so good. no problems what so ever. (wish there was a smiley for jumpin up n down) I will test for the rest of the day and report what I find out.

    At least you have experience. I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that reception is not my problem and laugh at me. :D
    Anyway if this doesn't pan out, my next thought is my tuner card. I'm not sure. but to be honest my tv right now is running pretty smoothly, and I'm on the internet. :D I may just break down and go buy a real antenna for the roof. You definitely would laugh at me if you know what I was using right now...:p My television must have a much better card than the Hauppauge I'm using. I think its an ATI or something. with the same antenna I get all of those channels I cant with crystal smooth clarity. :D That is what Im trying to get out of MP. anyway, thanks for the reply. I'll post back with results later...

    In the last install. I would get errors all the time. Not this one, so far ;)

    Edit:::::::::::::::;

    Well, my latest endeavor is an EPG. I was successful in retrieving data, but there are now more channels than I actually have and the ones I have don't have information. what am I doing wrong? Is there a way to map the channels to the ones that are retrieving information?

    EDIT:::::

    Well, this is about where I blew it last time. I got an error when trying to run webepg-config.exe it is attached with logs...

    Well, It seems that I am all up and working at this point. I really wanted to use the internal tv with MP, but couldn't get it working for some reason. I own Beyondtv 4 and it works flawlessly. so I integrated it with MP via the multi-shortcut plug in. which really should be added to MP in the next build. IMO. now I just leave MP open and when I want to watch some boobtube, I just go to the beyondtv tab and it opens full screen giving remote control to it, while MP runs in the background. when I'm done with the tube, hit the clear button on the remote and it closes BTV. giving control back to MP. no guide issues, nada! MediaPortal has got to be the best thing since sliced bread. anyway...

    I was wondering. why is it that MP's tv capability with the same exact tuner card is not so good, while BTV collects twice as many station with better reception???:confused: I mean to me it just doesnt make sense. but what do I know...

    now off to find the right layout for a skin and start customizing my new media center. I think the ol' lady might just let me build a better computer as home media server after she plays with this for a while. now to just get all my media converted to divx. My music is already on the pooter. ;) Maybe someone can point me to a good converter. Or is there a plug in for that too? :D

    Thanks again for this AWESOME site!! I will be browsing the plugin/skin section....

    :D

    Well, as persistant as I am, I cant take no for an answer. I have been trying to get the tv side of MP to work. I am not exactly sure but I think that I may have a codec problem. I rescanned for channels today and got 17. 4 more than the last time I tried this. I went to a channel that I know plays well and used the mpeg2 video codec from snapstream and their audio codec. everything seemed to run like digital cable for a few minutes then it froze and crashed the program. tried a couple more times with different video encoders and such. finally I ran the debug mode and here are my logs....

    This time I am going to try and take it slow, and work the problem out. I dont really know what to look for in the logs but I am almost positive it is in my audio video setup. the channels are there. IDK. help? :)

    thanks

    edit::

    maybe someone with a similar computer setup as mine can suggest the codec and video encoder they are using, so I can try those for reference...

    OMG!! All those problems I was having and all it was was a hotfix to fix it!! Now I am a VERY happy camper...I have been having weird problems trying to set up MP. I would get it sorta working and then something would crash. Not so many channels and so on so on so forth....

    I went to wally world (walmart here) and bought a new hd antenna for the roof. set it up and went back to the pooter to see if my seventy dollar investment made any difference. NO! so needless to say I went to bed lastnight broken. I thought I would never get this thing hooked up. I hooked that antenna to my Olevia tv and got seven more stations than I did before. That smoked me even more:mad:

    I got up this morning for church a little early and re installed MP one last time before I gave up. Except this time I was gonna try with the tv server. just for giggles. when I went to configure the server it gave me a dialog box that said: outdated psisdecd.dll something...Micro$oft si/psi parser something. so I googled this and found a hot fix at another site. Applied it and when I rebooted and scanned for channels...:eek: 24 Stations!!! I was only getting about seven before! Now I just have to deal with the whole "right codec" thing, but hey, I haven't froze in the last two attempt to watch the tube. That in itself is priceless.

    Now I will go back and re-install skins and plugins to get this puppy all tricked out and then tackle those codec issues. You know once I have all the bugs worked out I think I can sell the ol' lady on a server. Thanks to everyone for all the hard work. and letting me ramble though My problems....

    Congratulations!

    Regarding codecs for Live TV, Cyberlink for Video and AC3Filter for Audio. At least this is what works for me.

    Hope that helps.
