HI Joystick,

I got the same problem. Sometimes remote mapping is lost with no reason.
I have to close mediaportal, restart then it works again.
no special message in log seems helpfull...

Maybe Merbac can help !? (one post before yours) He seems to be able to fix the source...

I attached the version of the DLL that I managed to recompile for myself. I have not noticed any "hangs" or crashes and have been using it for about 3 weeks now (managed to recompile shortly after my last post).
Basically there are 2 things I did:
- Removed the short block of code that stopped the plugin from being able to to jump straight to the BasicHome screen
- Removed a statement that seemed to be calling a function provided by that DLL file that is no longer part of MP since version 1.1

Even though I don't really understand the overall structure of the code I'm pretty confident that the first change is perfectly fine, not sure about the 2nd one but i haven't noticed any problems over the past 3 weeks.

Update: The original author of this plugin, rsenden, has created a new version of the plugin with cleaned up code. Please try that official version from the plugin repository.

I second this. Had the same issue, really annoying since everything else work perfectly. I'm gonna try Mercbac's new version

If that doesn't work maybe Disaster may be able to help, but the requires debug log and how to reproduce it. Currently i cannot find a consistent way to do that If you're able to do that please add that here.


And to compile the source isn't that hard But doesn't help if you cannot code and find where the error is

hmm, I am just testing the disaster edition of MP, the Keyboardinput plugin is not working unfortunately.

Could someone more skilled than me please compile it against the svn?

i tried your version of Generic Keyboard Plugin and i have some issues. After starting a xvid movie ( divx8 codec ) i lost my keymappings ( this is reproduceable ).

I'll see if any of my Xvid files are in DivX 8 format to see if that also happens for me. Does it happen for playback of any other video format?

I lost remote mapping in his version. So must be a bug somewhere... I'll try and come up with some logs.

Since the creator of the plugin hasn't been logged in for over a year, I hope someone takes over the dev of this plugin. If so, I recommend that a new thread is started, or I'll promote relevant post to the top of this thread.

since this plugin isnt working with rc2 i decided to have a look. i changed only a few lines of code and compiled it against the current mp dlls. Now its working for me. Here are the binaries.
