Hi there.

Im having a problem with The tv guide.

I previously had this installed on a laptop without any problems but i built a dedicated media pc and my problem is this.

If i am watching live tv everything is fine speedwise.

If i then push the guide button on the remote it loads the guide in about 2 seconds. Then the computer will grind to a halt. The tv in the bottom right corner will play fine for about 2 seconds then everything sloows down. The tv starts to miss frames and sound. and any buttons take about 10 seconds to register for examle i push up to go up a channel in the guide i wait 10 seconds i hear the soud click and the bar then moves.

This makes the guide unusable.

If anybody could help me Ive been trying to fix this for days now and im tearing my out.

Thanks very much

Ive noticed that somebody else had exactly the same problem that was resolved by removing their firewall software. My computer ONLY has the ati drivers and media protal will all updates installed. No other software.

Disabling the windows firewall does not help :(

thanks

I have the exact same problem with a P4 1.9, 512mb, GeForce Go 420 gets worse and more unresponsive with any codecs other than MPV/MPA - but still extremely slow with MPV/MPA codecs. Have tried 0.20 release std, and SVN from 9/10/06 both have the same problem..

Nobody else offer any help.

I know this is a long shot but any devs have any ideas?

Thanks

I do not think I can help very much as my setup is not similar
to yours and I do not have the problem you are having.

Having said that...
Double check your codecs.
Take a look in task manager to see your CPU usage. Is anything using too much?
You may want to post your log file when this happens because there is no way
to trouble shoot your problem if it cannot be re-produced.

HTH,
patrick

First thing delete MP log from c\programs\teammediaportal\mediaportal\logs, just to make sure.

Then start MP\TV\TVguide, shut down MP.

Cut and paste the mediaportal log to www.mp.pastebin.com.

    Then paste link back here.

    ps pastebin a bit slow
