Hello, nice to meet all of you, I have a problem with watching a channel,
I have dish network and a box so I only watch channel 3, but when I shut down PC for the night or close media portal for a bit and restart, I try to watch channel 3 and 2 inches of the bottom of the screen is scrambled, so i must uninstall and re install mediaportal to watch channel 3 again with clear image, can someone tell me why bottom half of channel gets scrambled after restart ? its not a scrambled channel.
thanks

It looks like you haven't configured your TV codecs. Please have a look at this section in MP configuration:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...nfiguration/9_Codecs_and_Renderer/1_TV_Codecs

Selecting the "LAV" option for all is probably a fine choice to start with.

They are all set to LAV by default i guess in the options already, Here is a couple screenshots of whats happening..
It looks like another channel is trying to play along the bottom but its just to snowy and scambled looking, but screenshot slowed it do to see other channel, I only have 1 channel so it must be few min. behind the channel that is playing already.
The channel i was watching has slid up an inch and same channel with delay is trying to play bottom inch of screen.
    Here is a video

Well after trying all the different codecs, I don't see much difference, still the same scramble on the bottom, I think it is TV Server Configuration, not Mediaportal config..
I have tried to delete channel 3 , scan for new channels, found ch. 3 but still scrambled, the only way i find it to work is with complete uninstall mediaportal, re install, scan for channels, then it works fine till i Shut it down,, Having to re install everyday is getting old ;p

    Hello again

First, the LAV defaults are not actually saved until you visit that section and click OK. In other words, they will show as selected, but they're not saved.

I've seen a similar (but not exactly the same) scramble before when using analog tuners. I think it comes from a mismatch between the resolution of the stream and the resolution the encoder (analog tuners must have an encoder) expects. In your previous log files I saw you were using the Cyberlink video encoder:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...rs/5_Scan_Analog/Software_Encoding_Card_Setup

Have you tried using the ATI one? I think it will already be installed. Just need to increase the priority above the Cyberlink one.

The only other thing that might help with this is the settings I already pointed to:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...guration/02_TV_Servers/5_Scan_Analog#Settings

I have tried to delete channel 3 , scan for new channels, found ch. 3 but still scrambled...
    Won't help.

I don't know why reinstalling MP would help. Obviously this is not sustainable in the long run, so I would recommend to work with settings rather than starting over.

TV server configuration / general tab /software encoders tab / moved ATI higher on the list, works like a charm now, thanks for the help ;p

Fantastic! Thanks for reporting back. :)

Just out of interest: does it also work if you switch back to Cyberlink and change the resolution in the settings section to 720x576? Don't feel obliged to try this. Only interested... :)

well i can switch between cyberlink and ATI and different resolutions fine now, restart and pic looks fine,
720 x 576 says its PAL it works fine.
but i set back to 704X480 because it say NTSC, not sure if using PAL setting with my NTSC tuner will work well in the long run ?
