Digital stuff has it nags I guess. (sometimes I also do miss the old VCR analogue days)
But in order to achieve the best we have to obey the rules, even though they might not always make sense.

as I said, u need to isolate the problem. Is it the HTPC or the TV ?
If only all TV's would act like PC display devices, then there would be fewer problems.
But the sad fact of the matter is they dont
Pixelmapping and refresh rates supported by the TV are indeed very important.
One of the more important things in a HTPC setup is the TV. also One of the hardest things to get "right".
your TV should be able to tell u the input resolution and refresh rate.
did u try and update the firmware in ur TV ? just for kicks?
